Re: Reading FC Womens World

Are the Chinese subsidising the ladies? They are all professional now.with playing at Adams park plus overnight stays for away games etc it’s quite an expensive venture without getting that much in return. Well the obvious answer is that the RFC owners by definition underwrite the costs of the Club...

Re: Pure Speculation - Tshibola

Could be all sorts of reasons why the loan has ended. Has he picked up an injury which means he won’t play for 6 weeks ? Did MK want to extend the loan for the season but get told that was not going to be possible so bailed out ? We’ve had some young players who definitely had attitudes or seemed to...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wolverhampton Wanderers (h) sponsored by the search for a Saturday home win

Going to need at least 7/10s all over the pitch to get anything here, will take a draw any day of the week, they have 2 players worth more than our entire squad and with 4000 screaming away fans it could turn into a uncomfortable afternoon. Don’t think our squad cost less than £13 million. We spent...

Re: Pure Speculation - Tshibola

Question on this - as MK terminated his season long loan, could he play for Villa now or will he have to wait until the Jan window at least? Not that he'll play anyway but interested if anyone knows the rules around that. Technically a loan can only be ended during a transfer window, But there is a...

2 hours to get from Reading to Wycombe   Seems reasonable. Assuming you don’t want to arrive bang on ko, it could easily take well over an hour during a Friday rush hour. When you have to negotiate Reading traffic, then the Marlow bypass, then Wycombe it’s a horrid journey. Check out ho...

Re: Parking

The club have for years been talking to local businesses regarding parking options, this is fact. In the past they have had businesses on Green Park willing to make lots of spaces available but they are just tenants and the landlords have always said no. Not sure what options are left if businesses ...

Re: The "reward youth" debate

True, but I'm talking about players who've played a significant number of first team games or, in the case of Taylor, scored a league goal. Who's to say that Southwood or Loader will play for England or won't find an grandparent who gives them an alternative route into international football? No on...

Re: The "reward youth" debate

It works in other countries. No reason why it wouldn't work here. We shouldn't let our traditions hold us back. Talk us through the ways it has worked in Holland. Both in terms of continuing the success of their club sides and the performance of their national side.... In terms of there being ‘no r...

Re: The "reward youth" debate

Having said that, I can definitely see how the national team has benefitted greatly from our academy giving first team opportunities to Alex Pearce, Jem Karacan, Simon Church, Hal Robson Kanu, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Simon Cox, Jake Taylor and Liam Kelly. Also, a lot of these non international foreigners...

Re: The "reward youth" debate

Bring back proper reserve team football. Would make no difference. Clubs are already allowed to field 3 overage players + GK, but very rarely hit that. Absolutely No. Exactly what I thought. This country has a long established league structure that works By what measure? Our leading clubs struggle ...

Re: Pure Speculation - Tshibola

I think Stam said that tishbola came to him and said he wanted to go... The amount of cash we got up front was probably much less than the 5 million quoted although the wages on offer would have been significantly higher. Always seemed Tishbola was badly advised, you wonder if he has HRK’s brother a...

Re: Pure Speculation - Tshibola

Sad if he has developed an attitude, when he was with us he was a really nice lad, very down to earth. I think the feedback from Hartlepool was much the same. The move to Villa never looked a sensible one and looks even worse now. Hope he manages to resurrect what looked like a very promising career...

Isn’t Patrick Bamford at Boro ?

Surely they could share tales of being a much hyped Chelsea starlet who’s career is wasted on endless loan deals before settling for a bit part in the Championship ?

Sorry, wasn’t awareness of the rules for these situations. And of course there is a difference between responding and falling for something. It was clearly not true, and no one thought it was. If everyone didn’t respond or told the OP to stop posting shit then HNA would consist of lots of threads wi...

Re: Injury watch 2017-18 season

Correct, the rules don’t oblige you to nominate who your sub keeper is. You seem to be confusing the scenario under discussion, where a team has no one on the bench who is a competant keeper and the rare exception where their competant keeper is also an outfield player (in a reverse scenario we coul...

Couple of thoughts
Where did you see the article ?
Why would we take a player who has failed everywhere he has been to use what talent he has ? Seems a crazy idea.

I’ve been to a few Den Haag games. Good fun, lively atmosphere but they wouldn’t be a force in division 2 in England yet manage to stick around the lower end of the top division in the Netherlands.

Re: Injury watch 2017-18 season

When you have 7 subs it is criminal not to name a keeper on the bench. Simply ludicrous. Depends. Some outfield players can make for very decent goalkeepers. Trevor Senior was always more than decent whenever he was called upon, so if you have an outfield player with a decent level of talent then y...
