Re: BFTG Sheffield United

I Remember loads on here used to castigate Norwood when he was playing for us. You need to be careful what you wish for. That's because, bar a few long range crackers, for the most part he was shit. Like most of the Sheffield United team he's a bit of a broken toy who has been brought in as a part ...

Re: BFTG - Blackburn

Pretty sure Gomes has already said we have a deal in place to make it a permanent move in the summer . Isnt that what they said about Glenn Murray and we ended up getting him fit for a better move for him? Thats the problem with loanees, if they play well, other clubs notice them. I would agree tha...

Well, TBF, it was only 3 goals away at Old Trafford from coming in.

Well, its actually a three horse race.
I know its popular to wish Man United the worst of luck; but I cant remember an iota of form which suggests we're getting anywhere near anything out of this.

Re: Are we really going down this season

So a player like OShea. We're going to be his last worthwhile contract - we're going to have to pay off the whole lot his contract aren't we? McShane's also done nothing recently to suggest any sideways move is possible. Im not sure that what Gomes is saying is that we're going to sell these players...

Re: Are we really going down this season

Its all very well saying the players can go, but what is the process for making sure they do go? Or is this just another rebranding of Burns' deathrow 5?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Swansea City (h) sponsored by a new hope

I haven’t been to a game in 3 years because football fans are awful, but I may actually come back next year if we get relegated. I used to love division 2. I too dont think going down would be disastrous. I know its an extreme example, but going down has revitalised Sunderland. When youre 91/92 on ...

Re: Are we really going down this season

The bottom 3 now are going to be the bottom three at the end of the season, arent they? 3 teams with problems, who have all just recorded a dismal result. For any scenario where 'Parkinson stays up at our expense' will require Parkinson still being in charge at Bolton at the end of the season.

Re: 2018 calendar year combined EPL and EFL table

Considering football isn’t played over calendar years this is all pretty pointless isn’t it? Quite, and frankly any time period would do if you want to show Reading are having a torrid time of things. I dont think its that bad a stat actually. Its of course made worse by the fact that we did our ab...

Re: Are we really going down this season

Agree on the whole with that Suspect our best chance is Bolton, Ipswich and Rotherham being slightly more inept than us. Which I’d say is about 50/50 at the moment Bolton also have relegation written all over them this year. Not sure about Ipswich and Rotherham. Ipswich havent amassed many points a...

Re: Are we really going down this season

If we win at Millwall (just saying) they will be 4/6 and we will be 5/1 No they wouldnt have been. Not everything is based on league position, you know, Obviously the bookies dont rate our managerial acquisition, for instance. I suspect our home defeat to Bolton and draw to Ipswich didnt impress th...

Re: José Gomes whelmguage

if you want to assess a manager, I would say its fair that he is given time to work out what the first 11 in. Which given our bloated squad of players who are equally ineffective as each other could take some time. Clement only really started to understand who is first 11 was just before we sacked h...

Re: Ex Players

Aaron Kuhl has basically been crocked for the last 2 years. Last I read he was trying to rebuild a career at Step 2-3 in non league. Aaron Tshibola is on loan at Kilmarnock from Villa. Shame on both counts. But that Tshibola news is especially annoying. I guess we sold him for the money, but he cou...

Bearing that in mind, is it time for a bet on Scott Marshall? You might even win the bet on a technicality.

Re: New Manager

To be honest, every option seems at best to be a bit meh from where I'm standing. There's not a single one that makes me think "That would be a great appointment". I'd love to see an appointment that can build something but the priority must be not getting relegated. It's a shit position ...
