Re: Forest (A) match thread

Usual problem. Doing ok until we concede, then it's pretty much game over.

Re: Liam Moore Hypocrite or Hero?

Hero. He's not a reading supporter and I wouldn't say owes us anything. We gave him a good start and in his first season alone I recon he repaid that favour. For his sake, I was hoping he could get a move to a prem club, I'd hate to think he blew his shot at the big time to see us survive in the chu...

Re: Who could replace Stam?

I'm still pro Stam. I recon hell turn this around at Forrest. But let's say he were to leave, now that's a toughie. In an ideal world, you'd get someone like Roberto Martinez. How long did he keep a struggling Wigan side in the premiership? He knows how to fight relegation. I actually thought they p...

Re: Boro v Reading Prediction Thread

Boro 0-0 Reading HT Boro 2-1 Reading FT Bod '83 Boro take the lead on '60, we leave it late to grab an equaliser with bod running through 1-1. After coming agonisingly close to grabbing a winner (Aluko with a tap in at the back post, hits the inside of the post, rolls across the line and is scramble...

Re: Boycott

I'm still pro-Stam. Genuine question, what is it you see in Stam that you want him to continue to manage our club? Good question! I won't say I'm 100% in, and as I don't go to away games, I'll acknowledge that there are plenty of aspects that I'm not aware of and I'm by no means a good judge of foo...

Re: Boycott

To be honest, having seen the number of people in the ground on Saturday at the final whistle, I thought people were already doing a boycott. I honestly don't think it's worthwhile, boycotting. I'm still pro-Stam, but even if you don't like him being in charge, I doubt we've got the money to buy him...

Re: Stam to be sacked?

I'm actually still on his side, though I must admit, it is getting hard to find enthusiasm. I like him as a bloke and you just know, he'll go to some league 1 club and in two years time, beat us in a championship playoff game. I do enjoy cheering on the team when nearly everyone has left. Anyone tur...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Burton Albion (a) sponsored by points mean prizes

Really need a win tonight. It's a shame, because I really like Burton, but right now, we need a win too much to be sentimental. Would love to see some aggression and passion from the players. We have fast wingers, I just hope they've lost their fear of running at defenders. I don't mean to be disres...

Re: Burton v Reading Prediction Thread

Burton 0-1 Reading HT
Burton 0-2 Reading FT

Barrow '39
JDB '82

Early goal tees up what should be a close second half, but turns out to be a complete bore-fest. JDB heads in an Aluko corner in the last 10 and we all leave thankful but still deeply troubled.

Re: Unfortunately ANOTHER In or Out poll

I'm still with Stam actually. I'm so bloody bored of bouncing from manager to manager, getting one session of playing well followed by one season of playing awful and then BOOM, he's gone. Did we have a season of actually playing well though? We got results yes, so credit there for that and getting...

Re: Unfortunately ANOTHER In or Out poll

Totally respect your opinion. Just think that like for most clubs the risk of doing that and getting relegated is just too great. We'd be in financial meltdown if we got relegated. That's a good point. Going down with our wage bill would be catastrophic. Can't shake the feeling that the next 3 game...

Re: BFTG Brentford

As devastating as it could be too go down, I'll still buy a season ticket. As long as there's a club to support, I'll go. I think this season is just recompense for years of over achieving. We are not a big club, we're a local, family oriented club and I'm fairly content with that. Besides, what els...

Re: Last game of the season

The way things are going at the moment, there is no danger of struggling to get tickets. It's usually worth hanging around though. I've always thought that it's a good opportunity to guage what our 'base' support level is; the number of fans that will go whatever. Plus there's unlikely to be a queue...

Re: What is the problem at the moment?

In my opinion, any tactic that depends almost soully on not conceding the first goal, is going to struggle in the championship. Most of the teams in this division are fairly evenly matched and tend to be attack heavy, you're almost guaranteed to concede at least a goal a game. In past years, we've c...

HT:
Reading: 0 'boro: 0

FT:
Reading: 0 'boro: 1

Lots of early pressure and few long distance shots flying miles wide. Going in at half time feeling optimistic, but think they'll nick it with about 10 minutes left, leaving us a bit too close for comfort to the bottom 3.

Re: Best loan signing

I always rated Luke Chadwick, whilst he was with us, but he never really seemed to push on and make it big. Omar Daley also seemed to have a lot of potential, but again, he never really made it. Other than that, i would agree that Upson was the best quality player to have joined us on loan. Either h...

Re: Norwich City Saturday Crowd and Score Predictions

HT: 0-0 FT: Reading: 1 Norwich: 3 Norwich to score two goals at the start of the second half in quick succession. A third coming after 75 minutes and most of the ground gets up to leave. Trying to rally late on, JDB to score a late consolation goal in front of the 2,000 home fans left inside the gro...
