Re: BFTG , Hull.

I thought Norwich were comfortably the best team to come to the Mad Stad this season. While we probably made them look better than they are, their movement off the ball was pretty decent and they all looked pretty comfortable on the ball, even their huge No 6 centre back

Re: BFTG , Hull.

Yep, think you're right. Hull played to his strengths. That said, think we could use more aerial dominance in central defence in this league. And, prolly most players in general looked better today on account of opposition. Do you think they played to his strengths as the front 4/5 were pressing so...

Pellet Clement must also have fallen out with his dad too. Nowhere to be seen again and not even getting in the U23s

Re: Brentford (A) - 29 Sept

Went for the standing terrace just to see what it’s like. Been a long time since I’ve done that.

Will probably just do the slow train to Waterloo

Looking forward to the day out, if less keen on the football!

First visit to Griffin Park. Assuming Waterloo line to Staines and then onward to Brentford station. Where are the usual drinking points please?

Re: Madejski Out

We got promoted in 2005/06. We finished 8th in 2006/07. We got relegated in 2007/08. Now what was it that happened in around 2008? Oh that's right, the GEC where Madejski lost approximately half his fortune having sunk a lot of it into print media and developing real estate in the centre of Reading...

Re: Where have the hardcore gone? Culture loss.

Having moved to the Midlands during the week for my job, I have spent the last three seasons coming back to Reading (at my personal cost) for midweek games. I think I've missed one midweek game as a result. This year, I've already missed both Carabao cup games and will no longer prioritise coming ba...

Re: BFTG - Weds H

I thought BOTH Reading fullbacks had an excellent game. As others have said, the invisible midfield were the problem. Thought the three subs showed commitment and energy. I really think McNulty should be given a decent run. He seems to play deeper, like a number ten (which might help the midfield) ...

Re: Clement

That’s a question and a half! He does like big, strong players so I think the likes of Baldock, Kelly and McNulty would not be part of the squad going forward. He likes his wingers so Barrow in but Aluko would be the first out of the door for his lack of work ethic. He would like Sims. Meite would ...

Rewind two years. Cardiff struggling at the bottom of the Championship. Warnock took over and in their first season finished mid table. In their second season they finished second.....and I suspect he spent less than we did in that period. He turned it around very quickly and got the players and su...

Re: Clement

Neil Harris did a great job with Millwall last season too with limited resources and a pretty average bunch of players. It’s about getting a style and gelling the team to all pull 8n the same direction. Stam actually did that in his first season.

I'm going for a 5-3-2 / 5-4-1 to sneak an away point

Walker

Gunter
Ilori
Moore
Blackett
Yiadom

Meyler
Bacuna
Swift/Kelly

Bod
Barrow

Subs
Vito
McShane
Baldock
Sims
Kelly/Swift
Meite
Ezatolahi

Think Meite should be used as an impact sub for a while

All the kids / teenagers who should be coming through to replace the "hardcore" are satiated by their daily fix of Sky Sports football and FIFA19.

Our hardcore are now the retirees sat in the West Stand who turn up when it's nice and sunny

Re: BFTG - Weds H

Literally no point talking about yesterdays performance, we were shite and there isn't much more Clement can do. His post match interview said it all, very honest but sounded like a defeated man. Clements subs yesterday were spot on, however he should've made them at half time imo or atleast taken ...
