Re: BFTG Sunderland

I don't think any of our signings have been bad really. Mannone - Not as much of a match-winner as Al-Habsi but not really put a foot wrong. Bacuna - brilliant all round really - would like to see him in the middle, but he's doing a good job at full back Edwards - chipped in with quite a few goals ...

Re: Gunter to Sunderland?

I have always been impressed with Dominic Iorfa who is currently on loan at Ipswich from Wolves. Think he's an aggressive defender (who I think can play centre back as well) but perhaps lacks a bit of finesse going forward. Could be another cut price, face doesn't fit signing from the Old Golds

Re: Parking

What was going on tonight within Green Park - looked gridlocked The Wolves coaches were parked along there, so the road was closed from 16.30 for an hour. I only remember this happening once before (a couple of seasons ago?) when Cardiff were in town. Unfortunately, the signs warning that this woul...

Presume Joey is suspended and Yann is not fit. Hopefully won't be out for too long again.

Interesting that Loader has been brought into the squad.

Re: BFTG - Wolves

I think stam is planning very much for the fact we have a glut of games. I reckon Richards will be back in against Bolton, as will Edwards. I suspect Aluko wasn’t fully fit, and neither are Yann or Bod Like I said, no real issues with the team selection bar Beerens. Equally the sub of Edwards for I...

Re: The "reward youth" debate

I know the theory behind the U23 league, but would they be better returning to a more traditional reserve/B team type league? That way the U23s would potentially get to play against older/more experienced players? Pros and cons I suppose

Re: BFTG - Nottingham Forest

and I guess my question is, when Kelly plays do we now fear the worse from now on as we know JS will return to the same s+it clueless football as before. Expectations for Kelly are too high. Needs to play in a formation with minders. Too lightweight if Swift is in the team. Both will strengthen so ...

It was also good to see a team that came to play rather than park the bus. Perhaps a bit naive and they had to after conceding quite early. But it helped to make it entertaining

Re: BFTG - Middlesbrough

The midfield is a big problem. I wasn't a massive Danny Williams fan but we are really missing his drive and energy and commitment. I thought Bacuna showed some signs of filling that role but seems to be injured again. Swift and Kelly looked scared to make mistakes, taking easy options. Joey can be ...

Re: What is wrong?

With the exception of Joey, all the players looked scared to take the initiative and make a mistake. Both Swift and Kelly have lost this from their games this season. I think it was the Millwall cup game where Swift made about 4 errors in a coup,e of minutes and promptly got substituted. Aluko has t...

Surely this isn't really a Stam v other manager thread. It should be a Nigel Howe / Nicky Hammond versus Tevreden and Gourlay?

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Barrett played as a centre forward once House went off. Put in a decent shift and was surprisingly decent in the air, though the Villa centre backs weren't exactly impressive. Agreed he's also bulked out. Thought Osho looked like he could have a future. Seemed to read the game well. Andersen looks d...

Wouldn't disagree with Popa in for McCleary. Let him run his nuts off for 60-65 minutes. Or perhaps bring in Clement, play him behind JDB and put Aluko on the right wing
