Re: Relegation Watch

Just for the record, if Barnsley don't get more than 1 point from their next two fixtures Reading will be safe even if they lose both of their final games (presuming Bolton don't manage a 10-15 goal win v Forest).

Re: Saturday

Some of our fanbase doesn't seem to be looking forward to travelling down to the Majeski.... https://www.twtd.co.uk/forum/428793/reading-away/#23 For me, it's always been a pleasure. Admittedly, I haven't caught public transport down there for years (since Elm Park went) but the drive is always str...

Re: Saturday

You'll win. You always do against us. And we've got injuries (loads) and we're awaiting a decent manager for a change, but no-one's told the team, who have decamped to Butlins en masse with their trouser legs rolled up and knotted hankies on their heads...... Good to hear. Who's gonna be the new ma...

Re: The Non - League thread

Final week of the season in the Hellenic Premier and spare a thought for Lydney who have to play 4 games; on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday Can’t help but think that is utterly ridiculous and that there’s no reason that most of those games can’t be played over a couple of weeks at least se...

Re: Relegation Watch

"Despite another defeat, Reading have avoided dropping into the relegation zone. Next week's game with Ipswich Town is imperative and a win there would go a long way to securing survival." Great comments again from our local journo. So how Mr Low could Barnsley have made up 5 points on us...

Re: Building for next season

Heh, with that said, not sure I'm entirely convinced Clement doesn't at least have a little dirt on his hands right now. I mean, are we saying there are no managers out there that could have done any better with this lot? Not sure I buy that. But hey, we should prolly steer clear of those waters at...

Re: Arriving to games late

I once came to a game late. I missed a couple of minutes of football. I wrote to John Madejski to ask for a refund because they started the game without me, which is rude. There's a clip online somewhere featuring a groundhopper turning up at a game at Bracknell dead on 3 pm, only to find the refer...

Re: Relegation Watch

Two questions

1 should Reading win next week, who is on the pitch?
2 should Reading lose or draw and/or results go against them, who is staying to applaud the players on their lap of appreciation?

Don’t think a football means anything to them either. And as for that strange stringy thing that occasionally appears in the far off distance... no not a clue either.

Re: Relegation Watch

Next Saturday really is the biggie for us. I’m presuming we’ll lose to Cardiff whatever happens before If we could still go down this time next week (realistically not with a 15 goal swing etc) then there’s a good chance we will do Note also that while everyone bangs on about goal difference it won...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (a) sponsored by c'mon URZ

Burton have it all to play for next week against Bolton now. but Burton can still pass us with 2 wins. Sunderland down. But to overtake us, Burton need to beat Bolton, if Burton beat Bolton, Bolton need to beat Forest about 10 nil, assuming we lose both our games 3-0. But then if Barnsley also get ...

Re: Relegation Watch

7/9 points required for guaranteed safety, down a solid three from 10 pre-game thanks to draws for us, Barnsley and Bolton. Ticking down the tally slowly but surely. 4/6 required... those other teams just keep letting us off the hook. And realistically, it's only 3 points because Bolton's GD is so ...

Brentford are 1 point outside the play offs with Barnsley & Hull left to play :? Millwall in 6th play Boro in 5th next week, Millwall then have Villa while Derby have to play Cardiff, Villa and Barnsley. Reckon Brentford could be a good bet to take the last play off place (can't find any odds o...

Re: Building for next season

Issue completely due to Stam and his overly technical approach in training and purchase of players who can actually pass if you let them but can’t actually tackle. Really hoping Reading can get away with it and survive this season and that Paul Clement manages to achieve a complete REVOLUTION of the...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (a) sponsored by c'mon URZ

Paul Clement is more than disappointed. Saw the game pretty much like those watching it. But he has little room to manoeuvre given injuries and the utter idiocy of 2 players to get themselves sent off. Another week clear though for training and to get themselves together for what is effectively goin...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (a) sponsored by c'mon URZ

I'd been interested to see a league table of results from the Burton home game onward. I know that we'd be bottom 3, but not sure how far off . . If the season had started on 23 December then the bottom 7 would be something like... 17 Bolton 21 18 Ipswich 21 19 Leeds 18 20 Forest 18 21 Barnsley 18 ...
