Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Dragged my backside down for the second half. Quite a good crowd and atmosphere considering Playing pretty well imo, quite entertaining. Couple of nice assists for Popa Not getting why Popa is continually not getting a look in for the first team while struggling players like Aluko and GMac (sadly) ...

Re: Sheffield Utd - Back from the game

Not me, my boy who was scouting Sheff Utd for upcoming game v LUFC, (he's an RFC fan and former ST holder) "Woeful. Men against boys. Only shining light was Swift who made a huge difference. No other positives whatsoever. Pathetic." Rather think I trust a professional's view on the perfor...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield United (a) sponsored by one swallow does not a summer make

Is Stam incapable of changing tactics No he's not. When we play well ( Birmingham, Leeds, Villa) he changes the team and formation next game. If an individual plays well (Kelly, Evans etc), he's on the bench next game. Yesterday’s team selection was down to losing Bod to a calf problem in another t...

Re: Relegation

Bottled the play off final with ultra safe tactics. Still didnt get the striker needed in the summer despite a good eighteen months looking for one. Persisting with clueless systems that dont work. Never ending catalogue of injuries of which many seem to be inflicted during training. Now pinning hop...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield United (a) sponsored by one swallow does not a summer make

Sounds like just what you’d expect. None of the Leeds impetus and back to the el crappo poncing about creating absolutely nothing. Kevin Dillon has pointed out the system is wrong with the players Reading have as there are just no front players to give ay threat or outlet. Personally I’d put Smith i...

Reading XI : Mannone, Gunter, Moore, Berg, Blackett, Bacuna, Ilori, Edwards, Beerens, Barrow, Aluko Subs : Jaakkola, Swift, McShane, Richards, Clement, Kelly, Smith Let me guess, Bod is injured.... Wonder if GMac is injured as well or just dropped for a rest. Think we can all guess what to e...

Re: List of postponed matches from over the years

To start with - since 2000 POSTPONED Burnley (H) FA Cup in 2010 was postponed just before kick off owing to a persistent torrential downpour of very heavy rain delivering more water than the drainage could cope with Sunderland (A) was postponed at about 1:30pm on 25th August 2012 due to the great dr...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield United (a) sponsored by one swallow does not a summer make

Do we stick with Bacuna at RB and Gunter at LB? It looked pretty good last game? I guess the only worry is if they have a great right winger (don't know the opposition very well) Gunter might get caught out? Hopefully Barrow and Bodvarson start. He's surely less likely to get caught out than Blacke...

Re: James Wilson

Today's BBC Gossip - Reading manager Jaap Stam has confirmed the club are interested in signing 21-year-old Manchester United striker James Wilson in the summer. (Reading Chronicle) Summer ? Bit of a wait or won't ManU contemplate letting him go 'til then? But then I checked the Chronic and that s...

Can see ROI beating Denmark
Would expect Croatia to beat Greece
Italy are at risk against Sweden but will ore than likely get it right on the night
NI v Switzerland is probably the toughest to call, can see it going either way hoping NI will make it.

I could have saved that. It was a back pass.

Pleased for Mannone, mind.

Absolutely. It may have been a cr@p penalty but the keeper still has to fall over in the right direction.

Perhaps, just perhaps, Stam has also taken that on board in the last couple of weeks and Reading just may start looking more like they did Saturday in future games.

No I'm not holding my breath either.
