Slough Town on 14 July http://www.sloughtownfc.net/article/1513/Pre-season:-Slough-Town-to-host-Reading Note that the club fly out to Austria on 15th July so whether that’ll impact the level of squad that takes to the field v Slough remains to be seen. From the OS Five pre-season friendly fixtures ...

Re: RUMOUR - Marcus Maddison

Yes please. Think both him and Jack Marriott would actually be great business.

Would want to see a couple of Reading's current midfielders leave though to fully accommodate these rumoured changes.

Re: RUMOUR - David Meyler

Looks like he's managed about 25 apps a season for the last 5 years for Hull in the league

He scores 1 in 11 on average and I believe he's the guy who was on the receiving end of Alan Pardew's head a few years ago.

And just for the record he is 28 and an ROI international

Re: Pre Season 2018/19

What is this weird obsession we seem to have with behind closed doors/training ground friendlies? Added cost of running an open stadium during preseason? Not only for us, but for the team(s) we are playing against. Ah, that explains why no other teams play friendlies against teams at their stadiums...

Ha, yeah crossed my mind as well

Therefore, perhaps his song should be Nick Lowe’s “Cracking Up”

Re: Thatcham Town FA Vase Final

Seems strange that a Trade Union Council would want to own a football club, well away from where they are based. It was tied in with running the bars, and/or security, at the Festival. When they lost the contract for the festival it made the football club and it's facilities surplus to requirements...

So I reckon that would be

Moyes back at Everton
Allardyce at Swansea
Pardew at QPR
Holloway at West Ham
Carvahal probably in Spain

Steve McLaren is supposedly joining QPR

Love to see Holloway go to Everton.

Re: Building for next season

Actually think Clement's arrival and the subsequent run of form has been the best way Reading could have survived as PC would have learned a hell of a lot more about the squad and their mental make up than he would have done if Reading had gone on a winning run. Overall it's not a bad squad Reading ...

I think PC is unlikely to go anywhere. Believe he said that one of the reasons for taking the Reading job was to be near to his kids at last.

Re: Rumour: Denis Kolinger

So a new central defender would seem to be of interest to the club. Linked to this chap and Reece Burke, plus there may be interest in Elphick depending on where Vill will be playing next season. Ilori, Moore, McShane, Blackett I actually think is weak with McShane in the last year of his contract p...

IF this deal goes through I feel this could be a big turning point. Last season it took forever to get deals over the line and we often lost out. I am also assured that Clement and co seem to be looking at champ players and not foreign punts. A big statement of intent ( yes I used it) if this happe...

Re: RUMOUR - Andy Yiadom

Don't really need a right back with Gunter, Watson and Bacuna all able to play there. On top of that Ilori gives even more cover

So unless Yiadom is consistently better than all that lot and will therefore start every game what's the point?
