Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

I note that there is a meeting at the City Ground today of all Championship clubs where there is likely to be an agreement by the majority to insist the FL scrutinise the financial affairs of Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County and Aston Villa. Wonder if the FL will do so and wonder if they will find ...

Re: Dirty LOLeeds

Actually would like whoever finishes 6th to win the play offs

Wonder if Leeds would then sack Bielsa?

And could they have FFP issues too?

Then there'd be Villa's FFP problems....

Re: Berks and Bucks Senior Cup 2018/19

Listening to the latest TilehurstEnd podcast suggests that it is still unconfirmed whether the final will be played or if it is who will be playing in it. I presume it’s just wild speculation for the sake of something to say but wondered if there had actually been any further developments.

Re: Next Season.

Left back spot might be a problem. After 2 years failing to come back from a serious injury it must be a concern that Obita might not be able to play to the same level again. Will still have Blackett who has improved well this season but with Richards really needing regular game time to finish his d...

Re: The Forest is Green!

Similarly, Histon (even beating Leeds Leeds Leeds in the FA Cup) came close to league status, then fell away into obscurity and financial misery. Histon are on the way back. Believe they’ve just won the Eastern Counties League title and will be in that Southern/Isthmian League concoction next season.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Nameless Great support today, from all stands. Club1871 led from the start but everyone did their bit.
Poor show from the Baggies, I assumed their season had ended in mid table mediocrity....

Makes such a difference when there are decent numbers in 1871 as well.

Rumour - Reece Brown

Can’t see a thread on this one - both Reading and Bristol City are rumoured to be interested in FGR’s 23 yr old midfielder

Re: Which of the loanees would you prioritise?

1 Any player is available at the RIGHT price for the club 2 Reading do not have to ship out all their big earners and will keep those big earners that are right for the club 3 As you'd expect the summer will see the usual manoeuvring in the transfer market With regards to the loans my priority would...

Re: The League of 4

And realistically then there were 2 - Millwall and Rotherham - (though for the sake of professionalism Gomes et al are rightly still talking of having a job to do at ‘boro and maybe Birmingham) All Reading have to do is ensure they a) don’t lose both remaining games and b) don’t throw away a 13 goal...

Re: End of season contracts

Senior players of contract in the summer of 2019 Gravenberch Harriott Jaakkola McShane O’Shea Van den Berg Reckon Harriott should be offered a new deal and O’Shea should move into the coaching side. Expect the rest to be released. For the record the following senior players have contracts up in the ...

Re: BFTG - Baggies

Ref was poor I thought. Whistle happy and should have given Reading a penalty. WBA were poor, obviously see themselves as being in the play offs and seemed to want to preserve their playing staff for the event (when they’ll probably get done by Villa) rather than risking anything. Everyone did well....

Re: The League of 4

It’s a unique madness of football fans that they see a rival who has won 8 of 43 games and 1 of the last 5 and for some reason decides they could win 2 out of 3 all of a sudden If we had beaten them , rather than drawing twice this season. Then we wouldn't even need to be discussing this. As would ...

Strange things can happen and while it maybe unlikely, given previous form, anyone who thinks you can just sit back and relax for the final 270 minutes of this god awful miserable season because other teams will obviously continue to struggle needs their head examined.

Expecting that we'll also try to shift GMac, Gunter, Baldock, Kelly, O'Shea and our senior goalkeepers. Harriott and Blackett are out of contract aren't they? There's a lot of hoo-hah over Blackett and his contract. 50% say he's out of contract this summer, the rest say next summer. Would be helpfu...
