Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

The first team can only dream of getting a 0-0 at home though.

Re: Ex Players

Terry Hurlock now works for the RMT (National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers) and in 2007 the Times declared him as the 23rd hardest man in football  THE hardest man in football and probably now the RMT's 'chief whip'. My recollection of him getting sent off at home to Rotherham...

Re: The Brits Abroad Thread

Reading about this it transpires that Nelson is the 8th British player to make his Champions League debut for a non-British club. Was surprised to see one name at the top of the list - the first was Brian Deane who I didn't recall had managed to sandwich 18 appearances for Benfica between spells at...

Re: I think I’m done - just can’t watch this lot anymore

McDermott Championship winning season - No matter the score, you always thought we had a chance of getting something from the game before the final whistle (mostly thanks to supersub Le Fondre) Current team - No matter the score, you are never confident that we will get anything from the game befor...

Have Reading Town rebranded?

No. Reading Town folded.

Highmoor Ibis rebranded themselves as Reading City.

Re: I think I’m done - just can’t watch this lot anymore

Problems are the dreadful uninspiring style which is then compounded by the dreadful transfer policy . Last season the squad was poor and almost not good enough for this level of football and so along comes the summer and Reading go out and bring a load of underwhelming signings who, apart from Yiad...

Out. Shake it all about - I only voted to see how many want the Ian Royal option.

Perhaps we should all turn up to watch them and not bother about the first team.

Re: Clement

I understand the urge to blame the manager, after all Clement is the only person at the club we can actually do anything to get rid of as fans. I also accept that Clement is not doing a good job. What I can no longer accept is blaming managers for the poor performance of the players. These players ...

PANTS Day 2 : The shaming.

If nothing else it might encourage people to attend in number for one game this season.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

I'm not part of the group, though hoped it would work for the sake of improving the atmosphere. Though it's got to be said it was a pitiful turnout last night. No noise either which I thought the purpose of the group was for. I can't for the life of me workout why some people insist on sitting away...

Re: Injury & Suspension Watch : 2018/2019

Meite booked again last night - and Gunter too  Blackett is still injured and will not make the Hull game so it'll be another round of Gunter and Yiadom as full backs as it appears Richards is no longer on the manager's radar. Funny thing was Gunter was looking better last season at left back...

Re: Adrian Popa

Let's not forget he is an Romanian international and was playing regularly for Steaua so hardly a waste of space but guess it's what comes of never playing and then being injured. If he'd been played (or at least involved) by Stam in the first place we might have a different player now.

Re: Clement

First 30 I didn’t see Swift or Kelly try to make anything happen I’m a Swift fan, also rate Bacuna. Kelly a bit meh on. But I thought all 3 were terrible first half. It’s not just covering a lot of ground, it’s about aggressively trying to get the ball back, pressing as a unit and being brave with ...

It’s utter tripe again

No creativity

31 minutes before a shot on goal

Now Aluko’s blocked a shot. Trouble is it was Meite’s shot
