Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield United (a) sponsored by one swallow does not a summer make

Do we stick with Bacuna at RB and Gunter at LB? It looked pretty good last game? I guess the only worry is if they have a great right winger (don't know the opposition very well) Gunter might get caught out? Hopefully Barrow and Bodvarson start. He's surely less likely to get caught out than Blacke...

Re: James Wilson

Today's BBC Gossip - Reading manager Jaap Stam has confirmed the club are interested in signing 21-year-old Manchester United striker James Wilson in the summer. (Reading Chronicle) Summer ? Bit of a wait or won't ManU contemplate letting him go 'til then? But then I checked the Chronic and that s...

Re: World Cup 2018

Can see ROI beating Denmark
Would expect Croatia to beat Greece
Italy are at risk against Sweden but will ore than likely get it right on the night
NI v Switzerland is probably the toughest to call, can see it going either way hoping NI will make it.

I could have saved that. It was a back pass.

Pleased for Mannone, mind.

Absolutely. It may have been a cr@p penalty but the keeper still has to fall over in the right direction.

Re: Dutch possession based football R.I.P.

Perhaps, just perhaps, Stam has also taken that on board in the last couple of weeks and Reading just may start looking more like they did Saturday in future games.

No I'm not holding my breath either.

Re: The Non - League thread

Shaw Lane Aquaforce FC (former name as of last year but what a gr8 name) beat Barrow from 2 leagues above them in the FA Cup. This team may be one to watch out for. Only formed in 2011/12 and won their regional league (Sheffield and Hallam county) div 1 and then Prem straight away, then 2nd in the ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leeds United (a) sponsored by a deep dark realisation that this way creeps

Sounds like Stam has actually done some homework in the break and opted for a much more direct approach. Seems to be working but there is a fair amount of injury to play i reckon Hope Reading hold out as it will restore a little confidence to one and all. Wonder if this sort of approach will remain ...

Really hoping Berg is not going to be in central defence

Blackett on bench

Presuming McShane is another injury, was he in duty for ROI or is it yet another case of training “accidents”

Evans has a thigh strain apparently.

Reading XI : Mannone, Gunter, Moore, Beerens, Ilori, Berg, Aluko, Bacuna, McCleary, Bodvarsson, Edwards

Presumably McShane is now crocked but at least Bodvarsson starts

Expecting mcleary at right back and gunter at left

Re: Injury watch 2017-18 season

Latest as I know it. Obita - out for season Watson - out to December is all I've heard. Quinn - injured again. To be honest I think he'll probably retire as it seems to be a case of breaking down again every time he gets near. Mendes - believe he's had an op on his knee and is a way off playing yet....
