Re: Witty?Humorous Player Nicknames

Thought Murts was sick note, certainly his wife was as well at the school she taught at (some times) Jim McIntyre was known as "Big Yin" for his very large appendage, and his somewhat direct chat up line to the ladies "Do you want to see the biggest XXXX in football?" Sean Evers...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

NIGEL?! Wow. I'd always think as a side coming down you'd want to do your best to come back up straight away, if not at least consolidate. Instead they've invested nothing, brought in and got rid of a foreign nobody and brought back Fraizer Campbell. Shame as I don't dislike the club at all. Are Hu...

Re: Why doesn't the MadStad host concerts and music events?

Hopefully REP will change that and provide - at last - a reasonably good quality music venue that will attract touring bands into the area as it is utterly ******* ridiculous there is nothing in this part of the Thames Valley considering its population density.

Cost about a grand from Margate and flogged for 60k in the space of 6 months. This was 1969 so 60k was a bit  and I don't think you can blame the club for cashing in. As I recall he went on to play for Swindon and then decamped over to the States. Last I heard he was coaching in Seattle somew...

Re: The Non - League thread

Best team we’ve played in the league by far but that should be the case there is any truth in the rumour that Bracknell are paying around £150pw for players. My little knowledge of ex Windsor & Eton players now at Bracknell suggests that may well be the case. Promotion is not guaranteed. I have...

Saw this article on the BBC yesterday - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42149232 - Omar Abdulrahman: Is he the best footballer you've never heard of? But can he score a 100 yarder from the Tilehurst End in front of 85,000,000 while taking a dump in Lawro's kit bag? You forgot the bit about knoc...

Re: Record Watch 2017/18

Wasn’t overly impressed by Wolves when we played them, but they seem to be able to not play that well and still pick up points, a useful skill ! They look to have some significant weaknesses - the defence looks vulnerable with the big donkey (Boly) very weak and the keeper less than commanding. We ...

Re: Record Watch 2017/18

There was a twitter poll earlier this week about who was the best Championship side of the last 15 years. Reading came 3rd with 25% behind Newcastle 09/10, and this year's Wolves :| Wolves because they are fresh in the memory and Newcastle because they are a big club who everybody likes (allegedly).

Re: The Legend of Robin Friday

Hi all, as many of you are probably aware there is a new book out about the legend surrounding Robin Friday. Written by Roger Titford this book explores how a player that essentially spent his entire career, brief as it was, in the lower leagues has ended up becoming the stuff of legend. It is a re...

6th season in a row away in the 3rd round. not gone out in the 5 before last year. Apart from 2014 of course, but then it was a defeat to the biggest club in the world so doesn't really count. ⋅ 2013 - Crawley W 3-1 ⋅ 2014 - Brighton L 0-1 ⋅ 2015 - Huddersfield W 1-0 &...
