Re: Financial Fair Play

So how do we go about getting the club fan owned and moving this ship back to Elm Park? Bit tricky buying all the houses in elm Park, and knocking them down. Is there room to fit a stadium where the Hexagon is now? That would be a great location. make it hexagonal hexagonal pitch, 6 teams per game,...

Re: Financial Fair Play

this may all be well now, while we have seemingly benevolent owners, willing to invest and lose money.
the instant they decide enough is enough and they have to sell, this becomes a huge worry

Re: Financial Fair Play

Just started to take a look through the accounts for both the football club and Renhe Sports Management (its formal UK parent company). Here are some key points coming out for me 1. While we lost £21m (which including a net spend on players of £6.8m), the club actually burnt through £27m in cash. T...

Re: Financial Fair Play

Hasn’t it always been that way though ? Clubs used to rely on a local self made business man to throw money into the bottomless pit. Back in the 60’s Reading FC were propped up by fund raising by the Supporters Club. With the Sky nightmare the whole thing went stupid so now it is foreign billionair...

Re: Economics

Lets not shy away from the fact that ending up in Div One would be a disaster. At present I put it at 50/50; there just does not seem to be an initiative amongst the current squad to battle it out.We all know who the four teams are battling to avoid the last relegation slot. Our team sheet is the s...

Re: Economics

You think there is ANY chance of them walking away ? The money they have spent wil barely register on their balance sheet and undoubtably will actually be off setting tax bills. Still not seeing where your claim that we are weeks away from bankruptcy comes from. That is such a different thing to en...

Re: Financial Fair Play

Reading in the chronic that since the Chinese took over we have lost £34.7m that's not far short of the £39m for exceeding the FFP threshold over 3 years. Next year will need to be cost cutting like you wouldn`t know. That's how much the club is in debt, not how much we've lost since they took over...

Re: BFTG Ipswich

cant over emphasise the importance of confidence, which must be improving now, especially after games like Saturday. low confidence means we are more likely to wilt under 2nd half pressure, make more mistakes/wrong decisions, mean our heads go down when we concede etc. as we slowly build confidence,...

Re: Gomes after 10 League Games

I hope my posing the OP isn’t seen to imply I’m advocating CHANGE I am more than happy with Gomes Was just pointing out that his stats ARE improving and are better than Clement Even with this exact squad I would imagine he would comfortably get us 1.5 ppg in a new season. When he can address the we...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Ipswich Town (a) sponsored by Noel Hunt

Just seen that last minute miss (couldn’t watch the stream any longer by then) Oh my word. Really got away with one there That what really concerns me right now, apart from the last minute goals we concede, Sheff wed missed a sitter, Rotherham had a good chance just past the post and today. we cert...

Re: BFTG Rotherham

Enjoyed the game. Enjoyed the football we played, exemplified by the goal, all the way back to our box, dragging them with us then cut through them with quick slick passing for the finish. Goal was a gut punch but entirely predictable as we tightened up in the last half hour as the pressure told. Co...

biff I'm (fortunately) not on here enough to understand all the idiosyncrasies of this place, but is Old Man Andrews a windup account or just a cun.t?

Re: Rinhomota

blackett is the best option imo

hes been better this season error wise, and id still prefer an error in midfield than the defence.
hes got a bit of everything you need tbf, athletic, can pass, and defend

Re: BFTG - Blackburn

What a likeable bloke he is BUT this is still Stam/Clementball I actually like us playing out from the back. Realise I'm in a bit of a minority, but we do it properly now and it creates opportunities. Very little of that horrible Stam ball where we bobbled it slowly from one side of the defence to ...

Jagermesiter1871 Not having a pub near the ground is such a huge missed opportunity. You could make a killing - why has no one done it?

because youd only make a killing for a couple of hours once every two weeks and only during the football season
