Re: BFTG - Ramming the Rams

Its interesting to see how Sam Smith and Omar Richards have adapted to first team football and have not looked out of place. I know its early doors but they really look like they belong here. I would like to see Barrett, Watson and Andreasson given a chance at some stage and i also think Novakovich...

Re: BFTG - Ramming the Rams

What a difference when we play the passing game at pace, its weird how its finally happened and clicked into place. The movement, passing and hustling the opposition has been top notch the last few games. I honestly believe we will give someone a real hiding sooner or later, you can see the confiden...

Re: BFTG Millwall

Except we don't have two fit strikers? Am I the only one who blames the board for this run of form? If our only proven striker is out injured surely we're going to stop scoring goals. It would've been the case at any point last season too. The decision by the football club to allows strikers to lea...

Re: BFTG Millwall

Am I the only one that would just like to see an old fashioned 442 in the next game, I'm sick of all these weird and wonderful tactics. 442 with pace down the flanks and two strikers playing off each other. This used to be the most common of all positions but is pretty rare these days especially in...

Re: Under 23"s Supposedly not ready for first team football.

Its a tough call, but having a fine tuned Cat 1 Academy must surly outweigh having a Cat 3 Academy every time? Our Academy is still evolving but his already produced some good players, and in the case of Gylfi and Kelly one world class player and one potential world class player. If you look at some...

Re: Under 23"s Supposedly not ready for first team football.

I personally think we have 3 players ready for first team exposure and would warrant a place on the subs bench: Sam Smith - The one thing we are missing is a natural goal scorer, not knocking JDB but his two miss kicks in front of goal cost us that match!! A striker is all about being in the right p...

Under 23"s Supposedly not ready for first team football.

I read today that Johnathon Low feels Sam Smith and other under 23's are not yet ready for the Reading first team? I ask the question when are players ready for first team experience? Surly if a player is good enough then he should be given a chance? Look at the likes of Micheal Owen and Wayne Roone...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

U23s beat Fulham 2-1. a brace for Sam Smith. I would like this guy (Sam Smith) to be given some game time in the first team this year to really bring him on as a player. He came on for a brief cameo at the end of the Brum game and looked lively. We have all been panicking about a lack of a quality ...

Re: BFTG (H) Brizzle

We need to play this passing game at a higher tempo otherwise its not effective at all. We had that 5-10 min spell early in the second half where we tore them to shreds with high tempo slick passing and we were unlucky not to score. We also need to be more clinical, the lack of a clinical striker hu...

Re: Rumour: Sone Aluko

I keep seeing this - winger this, winger that. Unless I'm going mad, I'm pretty sure we don't actually tend to use wingers. We tend to play with a front 3 or a front man with 3 attacking players behind him - so we are getting players who are comfortable in the final 3rd in any of those 4 positions ...

Re: Oxford - Reading

Watched my first game back in 1979, those were the days and the rivalry's between the three in the Thames Valley Triangle were pretty intense!! Personally i always preferred the Oxford games to the Swindon games , there was always way more trouble at the Oxford games. Still think Aldershot is our bi...

Re: BFTG - Villa

Good game, great result against a poor Villa side. Just shows that money isn't everything in this league. Some of the passing tonight was top notch and i'm pretty sure that if we can string some good results together the confidence and speed of passing will get even better still. No really sure on ...

Re: BFTG - Villa

Bruce said in his after match comments the Reading didn't deserve to win? was he watching the same game as i was? we totally dominated the whole game and Villa were pants....I understand being a little bias towards your team but to say such a thing is a joke and makes him look stupid lol.
