Re: Who could replace Stam?

Well, Wigan 1 - 0 Man City , i guess Paul Cooks resume just got a little tastier. Those Wigan players gave it their all and defended magnificently....now those players were playing for there manager and giving it their all, but i guess Paul Cook will not want to come to Reading lol.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (a) sponsored by a neat finish from Paul Holsgrove

I'm not sure what is worse, the fact that I think Stam isn't going anywhere and we're going to relegated, or that I'm almost resigned to it and not even that bothered anymore. :| We won't be relegated, fortunately there are a few worse than us There is always a team that falls from the middle of th...

Re: FA Youth Cup U18 - Colchester United vs. Reading FC

Just been watching the highlights, these guys are streets ahead of the boring turgid football the first team seem to deliver week in week out!! yes i understand the opposition is not Chump standard, but the fast flowing attacking football is a joy to watch and pretty much all we are asking for. Make...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Burton Albion (a) sponsored by points mean prizes

Lowest attendance in the Championship since the Wimbledon boycotts at Selhurst Park in 2003. Attendance 2704 is really pretty embarrassing for a championship game!! and maybe 350-400 of those were the brave hardy Reading fans who made the trip. Burton don't deserve to be a championship team with th...

Re: Team for Brentford

A few on here seem a bit indecisive regarding our current RW position. I for one would like to see Popa given a run in the team as i've always thought of him as a real direct threat who can cause problems. Also, i may be wrong here but is Behrens natural position RW and not LW as he keeps getting pl...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Hull City (a) sponsored by Mr William Whitehurst

Terrible game, why did Aluko come on for the injured Swift!! surly he should have replaced him with Bacuna. Aluko adds nothing at the moment, all he does is spin around in circles. On the positive side, Richards had a very god game and i didn't realize he was so quick !!!! also i think Ilori is an u...

Please get our transfer business completed in swift fashion!!!

Why do teams always wait until the last minute (Deadline Day) to complete their transfer business? we know what we need, and i'm assuming that a list of players has been drawn up and handed to our DoF, as well as players we would like to off load. I understand offloading players is out of our contro...

Re: Theoretical: Sack Stam and replace with ...?

I think Glen Little would make a good manager. Or Bryn and Ivar double team. A Brynjar and Ivar duo would be unreal, wouldnt even care if they took us to League 1 Who cares, even league two, imagine playing the good old derby games away at Oxford, Swindon, Aldershot and Brizzle Rovers with these tw...

Re: Who could replace Stam?

Brynjar Gunnarsson.....knows every position (bar goalie) Wow totally forgot Bryn and i do believe he's in management in Scandinavia.....still wet myself over that nutmeg and amazing cross for Sean Long :D The guy is a Reading legend and would stir up excitement just because he's Bryn I'm in on this...

Re: In or Out? New poll.

I really don't think the formations are an issue, its the slow side to side and back to the keeper passing that's boring and easy for the opposing team to play against and press us into dangerous situations in our own penalty area. We don't have enough quality in the team to pass our way out of dang...

Re: Who could replace Stam?

How about paul cook at wigan ? Got chesterfield promoted, got pompey promoted last season, and has currently got wigan top of the table. One of those managers that seem to get teams promoted wherever they go. Would have also said chris wilder at sheffield united, doing well there, got them promoted...

Re: BFTG Bristol City Away

You can find many more examples of British styles of play being successful in the championship than you can with styles like Stams approach. Swansea and Bournemouth are probably the only two in recent memory this has worked for and at a push Wolves who have spent astronomical sums to achieve this. S...

Re: BFTG Bristol City Away

Stam is not the answer. He's had a season and a half and the team is going backwards. Get a British manager who has played at this level in who will organize from the back and play a direct style. If Michael O'Neill leaves Northern Ireland, that type of manager. Maybe even Martin. We have a couple ...

Re: BFTG Bristol City Away

Quite happy with the performance. Could have easily nicked it. Had we won today and also win at Barnsley and didn’t lose to Burton we’d be up Stam’s backside. Back the boys and make some noise. URZ I very much doubt we would be up his backside. Whether we had won today is irrelevant. He's driving f...

Re: BFTG Bristol City Away

Its been said numerous times on this thread regarding balance and playing players out of position....lets get back to basics and start playing players in their natural positions, its not rocket science its basic footballing principles. Lets go with 4-3-3, Richards at Left back, Gunter at Right and M...

Re: Rumour - Jack Colback

Firstly we need to off load some of the dead wood, McCleary is also past his best and i also think Popa is a really dangerous player and should be pushing for a start. We also need that 20 goal striker that we've been missing for years now and i also think our defense needs changing around. Ilori e...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

So two more goals for Barrett and another from Loader!! these guys must be given a chance sooner or later...its not like any of the other youngsters who have had a chance have played badly, if anything it was like a breath of fresh air. I may well be the kick up the arse some of the senior players n...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (h) sponsored by a Saturday home win

Sadly we have too many "players" who should be nowhere near a professional football club in Ilori, Clement, Blackett and Beerens. I agree with Ilori, Blackett and Beerens these guys are not up to it for some reason but i do like the look of Clement and if given a run in the team i think h...

Re: BFTG - Ramming the Rams

Its interesting to see how Sam Smith and Omar Richards have adapted to first team football and have not looked out of place. I know its early doors but they really look like they belong here. I would like to see Barrett, Watson and Andreasson given a chance at some stage and i also think Novakovich...
