Re: Anyone For Chinese?

I didn't think Ian Wood-Smith had a role at the club any more? Samuelson's 'new' consortium had an offer declined pre Chinese offer being accepted. If that has now gone down the pan then he clearly isn't going away, and Nigel Howe who is everyone's buddy and cant be trusted for one minute, looks mor...

Re: Dominic Samuel

There was late interest, ironically, from Leeds. We seemed to have pissed them off somewhat by nabbing Grabban at the last minute. They thought they had that one nailed!

Jonathan Low really is a class a dipstick, but he at least took it on the chin and said it wasn't his finest day. Lots of press running with this today as well, just to rub it in.

Re: Latest set of company accounts

I was saying only a few months ago the debts had increased. Then £15m received for REP paid off a creditor immediately, reducing the debt a pinch, and now of course the Chinese loan on top of £10.4m. Obviously with this transfer window everything is glossed over and the feel-good feeling is back, bu...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

You right the article off, yet our debt is higher now than before the Thai's took over. That in itself shouldn't shock anyone, we're one of many clubs who make an annual loss, but the debt is a substantial one, and we are yet to see what the club will still own after the Thai's have gone. Without do...

U23's & The Checkatrade Trophy - Wembley

First off, have you taken part in the boycott, or just not fancied going to the games? Would you go to Wembley if we get there, and there's a good chance now having knocked out a favourite in Southampton. Personally I'm against U23 sides being allowed to enter the competition. Having said that, we a...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Bidding £9m for a player would seem to indicate that this takeover is imminent. Going to be an immensely interesting January methinks. The £9m figure is way off apparently, but a bid is in and as of yesterday we were the only bid on the table according to Nicko. This lad has had two bad injuries on...

Nicko says we've bid, and he's usually spot on. He was also all over Stam coming here before it broke elsewhere.

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

I saw that, but then also saw a quote from Stam saying we are working hard behind the scenes to get people in; so I'd take no notice of talks being put on hold. The club wont risk losing the transfer window just because the ownership situation is likely to to change. It just perhaps creates uncerta...

Re: Rumour - Scott Hogan

Sometimes the papers include wages and bonus' when they make these claims. If that's the case this time then I suppose it's plausible we're in for him at around £5m, £30k p/w wages, promotion bonus, staying up bonus, etc.. But otherwise it's just paper talk. They did the exact same thing with Andre ...

Re: Rumour - Scott Hogan

Paper talk suggests West Brom are interested, but that could be his agent talking up a move for his client. Brentford to the Prem is a big step, he could perhaps do with a season or so at a better Championship club before testing himself at the top table. I can't see us having the money for him in a...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

So, Birmingham's new Chinese owners have sacked Gary Rowett despite a very good record in the division this season. Anyone else concerned? :? That is just ridiculous. Stam is a big name, so hopefully they'll stick with him. He can draw players in which you'd hope would be their intention with any n...

Re: RUMOUR: Jordan Mutch

Hopefully Wieser will be moved on. He seems to be a punt that just hasn't worked out. I'd rather sell William's than lose him for nothing next summer, and Mutch is a top Championship player, so I'd take that.

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Confirmed today by GetReading that it is only the brother and sister and not a consortium. I know it got a mention recently, but that's a positive for me at least. I'm not a fan of consortiums.

And they met with the Football League, so things are moving at some pace.

Re: Checkatrade trophy query

Disagree. U21 sides have no place in this competition. This is for League 1 and 2 clubs who have a realistic chance to have a big day out at Wembley and bring in a small windfall financially.
