Cheers SB and thanks for keeping this going. Sometimes it's more interesting than the matches themselves.

Re: BFTG - Cardiff

Even if that wasn't his intent, some footballers aren't overly blessed with brain cells and may well misunderstand what he is 'asking of them'. A bit like Henry II and Thomas A'Becket. Iirc, Warnock allegedly asked his players to 'rid him of this troublesome midfielder' Steve Sidwell in the PL game...

Re: Reading v Cardiff Prediction Thread

Not wishing to nitpick, but I'm going to nitpick.

What was wrong with this format?

Reading 1-1 Cardiff HT
Reading 1-1 Cardiff FT
Aluko, 24
Colin erupts about something or other

Did I get a minus point for stating the obvious? :)

Re: Tommy Jenkins.

This may be a false memory, but he seemed a little bit aloof in his attitude. I only saw him a few times but he was definitely a class above everyone else on the field. Scored a hat-trick in the 'Prenton Park massacre' if I remember correctly.

Re: Record Watch 2017/18

We didn’t really hit form until about this time in our record season! On December 3, 2005, we beat Luton 3-0 to go 4 points clear at the top with 53 points, as our 21st match unbeaten and 6th straight league win in a run of 10, scoring at least 2 in each game. Then we really hit form! :) Wolves mig...

Re: It is all Grimsby's fault!

FA Cup in 1988/1989, beat Hendon, Maidstone and then the might of Tranmere in the 3rd round and got drawn away at Grimsby Town from the division below (and on their way to a stirring 9th place finish that season) in the 4th round. Fairly typical of Reading's FA Cup draws, horribly unattractive and ...

Re: Reading v Barnsley Prediction Thread

Let's be positive! Barnsley have failed to score in their last 2 games (both at home). Although Barnsley have not lost an away game since September (a 2-1 loss at Wolves). Reading 0-0 Barnsley HT Reading 1-2 Barnsley FT Edwards '54  All this positivity is so heartwarming. Usually, of course, i...

Re: reading v Forest Prediction Thread

1-2 HT 3-3 FT Smith, Aluko, Swift Jeez you think we will score 3 goals......we hardly create 3 chances per game. We havnt scored more that 1 goal per game since August, that's something like 10 games ago. If you think that, you should put some dosh down on it. :D :D :D Well reverse-jinxed mate
