Re: Fixtures

Not bad at all. Happy that the away days between Christmas and New Year are both London, rather than somewhere like Rotherham. So officially we kick off the new season on television, under lights. That's going to go well..... although obviously we are only there as cannon fodder and background while...

Re: CONFIRMED: Novakovich to stay on loan nxt season, this time at Fotuna Sittard

nope this is new. Not sure about this one - note he has extended his contract with us. I'd rather have seen him given a chance here, but I suppose if he produces like he did last year at a level up, he is going to be hot property It's good that he has extended his contract at least. But yeah, would...

Can see they are going to be struggling to fill pages at the moment. There is zilch happening, and it will stay that way till after the world cup.

RE: REP - my understanding is that the club (and by extension the new owners) only own a minority (25%?) stake in the holding company which now owns the land. The rest is still owned by the Thai's(?). If that is the case then I don't think the project has much to do with "Reading Football Club...

Surely the club have to make a decision for the people that pay for parking soon?

Well they are offering renewals on Car Parking season tickets, so there's definitely car parking next season.

Reading are hoping to complete a permanent deal for Aston Villa centre-back Tommy Elphick over the next few days. [getreading] #readingfc https://t.co/dJWe4ss3RU If this is going ahead without Moore, McShane or Blackett going anywhere it makes the O'Shea signing looki and even bigger waste of time....

why? Makes sense to me. The jump from LOI to Championship can be difficult, and if it takes a season to get up to speed it's a waste of a year. Go to L1 and he's much more likely to get in the squad straight away.

Re: CONFIMRED - John O’shea signs for Reading

Drifting wildly off-topic now, but building up contacts (both with LOI clubs, and with agents) in Ireland again would be useful, with Brexit on the horizon. One of the few reasonable certainties is that Irish footballers won't need work permits, unlike the rest of the EU, post-Brexit. What the hell...

Everyone's favourite journalist has an interview with Noel Hunt, about his ambitions to manage Reading, up on the Chronic atm. http://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/sport/16282762.READING_FC__Noel_Hunt_reveals_ambition_to_manage_Royals_one_day/ Little snippet at the end relevant to this thread is: His b...

What qualities did that multi-capped Welsh International Chris Gunter bring to the party as captain? Like you, I have no issue with the signing but I do feel that captaincy in football is grossly over-rated by fans and generally they don't do much more than deal with the toss at the start of a game...

Re: CONFIMRED - David Meyler

I see alot of people talking about his 'character'. Any specific evidence of this? You don't make someone Captain of the Republic of Ireland Team without having certain qualities. Last year far too often. We looked totally bereft of fight. What qualities would those be? Frankly dubious about the si...

Re: ROYALS PROGRAMME

I would have liked the club to move with the times a bit and produce a digital version that can be downloaded onto phones/tablets. Stick a £1 charge on it and I think they'd make a tidy sum each game. In this day and age the majority of people are glued to their phones pre-match so would make sense...

Re: CONFIMRED - John O’shea signs for Reading

Just out of interest where did Clement work with O'Shea before? To me this signing smacks of a Ferdinand/Keown signing of yesteryear and we know how those two deals worked out. Offering even a 1-year deal to a 37 year old as a player strikes me as crazy. Republic of Ireland U21s. Flipping heck, we'...

Website no longer working here. Project delayed/off? Interesting. Of course the website was all about the plans etc when they were trying to get planning permission through, which isn't needed now, but you'd have thought they'd have hung onto the site anyway, for information/publicity etc during de...

Read a couple of pages, looks good And he apparently thinks Adkins is a knob, so he must be a good guy. That seals the deal for me, I'm IN for this signing. Just needs a song now :D As well as thinking Adkins is a knob, he wound up Parjudas so much he got headbutted. I don't think I've ever been mo...
