Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

No, it would be the same as the Premier League clubs having a B Team in the Hellenic. You know what I mean. People objected to the Checkatrade cup format because including PL academy sides undermined the integrity of the competition. What if a U23 team wins it - do they get promoted? No. You want p...

Re: Academy - is it worth it?

Jake Cooper Michael Hector Aaron Tishbola Andrija Novakovich Omar Richards Are all playing, or should be playing, Championship standard football. For the ones who have left, we could factor in the transfer fee received and estimate the fees the others would command, then you have a cost/benefit rat...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Great idea! Isn't this the equivalent of Premier League clubs having "B teams" in the Championship? Or the much maligned Checkatrade cup changes? No, it would be the same as the Premier League clubs having a B Team in the Hellenic. You know what I mean. People objected to the Checkatrade ...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Now in my opinion U21/3 teams should be scrapped and replaced with proper old fashioned reserve teams (where perhaps there would have to be, say, at least 5 U21/3s starting) so that youngsters could get a good amount of regular game time playing with and against experienced pros and really start to...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (a) sponsored by Nigel Adkins last game

I feel Meite should only be leading the line if we intend to put crosses in. He is wasted if we are playing to feet as the balls just bounce off his feet if its fizzed into him. An out of form Kelly v Meyler who hasn't played or impressed?? Think Kelly will keep his place for this one but dropped s...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Does any sensible person think that the Club 1871 project wasn't worth at least trying? They have tried it, nobody was against that. They tried and it failed. Time to let it die. You were against it. You posted absolutely poisonous garbage about it and about its backers when it was first organised,...

and Bolton are a bigger club than us... I'm all for a bit of what you might call 'banter' but am drawing the line at that. Please stop. Really? they have spent 73 seasons in top-flight English football FFS. and only 13 in league 1 and 2 combined. They have won the FA cup 4 times runners-up 3 times,...

6-0 in the end - but they're not the only ones to get thumped like that by Arsenal this season. Let's see how they bounce back.

Incredibly random but is Courtney serving the longest notice period known to man or is he now sticking to his job at the Chronicle? From memory he was supposed to have left in July? He has officially left but uses his press accreditation to get in the ground for free, he is a crook really. He tries...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

You'd almost need them *not* to be Reading fans, as otherwise they'd be distracted by the on-pitch shambles! They need to care more about the noise than the game. What on earth are you on about? You expect a 'non-Reading' fan to turn up to Reading games and chant? Even proper Reading fans can't be ...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Cheers Zip, were you in the same place vs Hull and what did you think of the noise and numbers in comparison if so? I couldn't make Millwall so I have to rely on others for this one, but knowing your view on Hull gives me a baseline as I could make that one. I sit in the same seat as a season ticke...

All good points gents but you're confusing me with someone who gives 2 scooby's as to what you think. I'm out of this thread, I have my season ticket in the South Stand for this season and don't plan on changing and will take great pleasure whatever the result in the fact that it annoys you : ) I m...

Re: BFTG Millwall Home

I’ve been saying for ages that Barrow is part of the problem. He’s wasteful going forward and poor defensively. Compare him to McCleary who’s positional sense is so much better. . . Great to see Blackett getting some plaudits today as well. I think the fans have been overly harsh on him in the past...

Re: BFTG Millwall Home

Definitely rode our luck there, if some of Millwall's chances had gone in, we'd be absolutely slating the defence here. So I'm sure my marks are coloured by the result rather than the peformance. Jaakkola. 8 Really really good shot-stopping. distribution was a bit rubbish, how many times did he kick...

Really baffled by this blond defence of Aluko , really odd. Of course I'm not expecting Clement to rip his player to shreds but his comments today were above and beyond what is necessary. What must Sims be thinking at the moment? The bloke knows there's nothing he can do to get a start. Would love ...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

By the way, not heard the Bill Oddie chant for about 18 months - perhaps there's a connection between singing that regularly and getting results in the pitch. Club 1871 should give it a go, a whole 90 minutes to make up for it's absence. Briefly made an appearance at Brentford, but yes haven't hear...

I'm gonna say it, because it needs to be said: you are full of shit, Admittedly he wasn't a world beater but he would walk into this Reading team. And I'm gonna say it - no he would'nt. I'd be relaxing by getting a massage or if up to it having a swim or doing some light work in the gym.
