Re: Mad Stad 500th Game

Ha, Ian as popular on there as he is on here People from Burton calling Reading a sh!thole though. Following people from Wolverhampton calling Reading a sh!thole. In comparison to those 2 glamour destinations, it really really isn't. They also seem to have their "there is no offer so good I ca...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

I would actually start going to football matches again if it was more like going to rugby matches - both in terms of atmosphere and clientele. So you prefer to go where everybody is pissed rather than just some pissed? Do you also enjoy the tedious singing of Sweet Chariot at England games? I don't...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

That said, the tribalism and passion is a lot of what makes the atmosphere at football, and would that go without segregating fans. God only knows all other fun at football is being sucked out. I don't think hurling and football (Gaelic) in Ireland, OR Rugby (here or in Ireland) lack tribalism and ...

Re: RUMOUR - Omar Richards

possibly, but I don't think he has played that much this year for them due to injuries and being involved in the first 11 Reckon he'll play vs Bolton - would certainly like to see him have a few games now Also like to think that Tshibola is a salutary warning to any of our academy products who are ...

Re: BFTG - Wolves

Not a good plan if that was the case was it? I don't think Omar needed protecting He looked incredibly confident - often the way with youngsters And Bacuna was so good in that position the team could and should have been built around him And as I said above I don't think Stam persuaded him of the r...

Re: BFTG - Wolves

You haven't mentioned Bacuna As I said he above he was outstanding v Derby and ran the game Why change? Because - if he wanted to protect Richards, and didn't trust Blackett, he didn't have an alternative wing-back/full back. And Bacuna has had at least one very good game at right back - so much so...

Re: BFTG - Wolves

I think stam is planning very much for the fact we have a glut of games. I reckon Richards will be back in against Bolton, as will Edwards. I suspect Aluko wasn’t fully fit, and neither are Yann or Bod Like I said, no real issues with the team selection bar Beerens. Equally the sub of Edwards for I...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Are the women full time? Would assume not and that their salaries from the club are pretty low. Would be happy to be corrected I think probably most of them are, but that has only started happening in the last couple of seasons. Don't know what the proportions are, but it's clear a lot more money h...

Except James Wilson, who Jaap seems to talk about at every opportunity But - does he bring him up, or is he asked about him? What Stam clearly does not do, which some previous managers did, ispretend we have no interest in a player when we do. But I dont' think he goes into a presser thinking, must...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

What surprised me yesterday was the size of the crowd- the U23`s or youth cup ties have never pulled in a crowd that size. It wasn`t as if the club really pushed the match on the website- nothing that I saw as a preview yesterday. Well they were doing overtime on twitter about it with numerous ment...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

On another thread it was suggested that one was started on the Royal Women's Team, so here it is. Fara Williams has won the player of the month. She scored an amazing goal direct from a kick off. They are doing well this season. Should they be renamed The Royal (or Reading) Princesses,* as Women or...

This, just this https://thecelticblog.com/2017/11/blogs/how-could-celtic-be-warned-off-a-player-we-never-made-a-bid-for-and-never-intended-to/ prob some truth in that. Re: Which of our players are genuinely premier league quality?

Never claimed Blackett was as good as Moore, if it was implied then no I still wouldn’t claim it. However, I do think he can make mistakes that are conveniently overlooked. Maybe it’s just me, I love Moore(favourite defender since Ian Harte) it’s just that I can’t help but think had Blackett or Gun...

Re: Which of our players are genuinely premier league quality?

These days I would say it's more about having a 'Premier league' team rather than individual players. You need a group of people that understand how each other play and are completely committed to their goal . You could take half of Watford's first team and mix it with half of Newcastle's and it wo...
