Re: Hammond

I thought he had zero input into selecting players, that's down to the manager and scouts. He just did the admin to get them signed. The most input he had for player selection was working through the list of 2 or 3 players that the manager wanted. This. BT seems more of a Director of Football type ...

Re: Liam Moore Hypocrite or Hero?

I like Ilori as a player but he shows zero leadership skills. In fact, I don't think I've ever heard him on the pitch. Moore was vocal and helping the back 4 last night. He is clearly the best captain at the club. Need to get over the transfer request nonsense. Whilst he is here, need to make best ...

Re: Liam Moore Hypocrite or Hero?

He should have been made our captain last season for sure. Impossible for him to do it now after what happened this summer, would send the wrong message. uhuh Poor decision and he's effectively laughing at every single supporter whilst wearing the armband. Only sour note on what was a good night fo...

Re: BFTG Birmingham

In another vein of BFTG. Why were there SO many first timers there last night? The haribo brigade. Was it that the £3-£7 ticket made it a better prospect than Chessington or Alton Towers? Loads of disinterested parents, many who knew less about football as a game than they knew about Reading. Speci...

Re: Club up for sale again?

Good points. Though after QPR's final 'punishment' you have to ask whether it's even worth staying inline with FFP . . . . . That was the last regime, the new one is "supposedly" tougher. Including preventing you from getting promoted at all. Note new regime means you have to guesstimate ...

Re: Liam Moore Hypocrite or Hero?

Kind of tangential and obviously I’m very pro Moore, have made my feelings clear on that especially with this whole debacle, but am I the only one that thinks although he deserves another a shot at it he won’t be much cop in the prem? I think he is one of those players too good for the champ but no...

Re: Club up for sale again?

This is dated season 16/17 fwiw. Yes, the 2mill interest is also 16/17. If, as suggested, it was on money lent by the Chinese, who didn't own the club at that point, maybe we are no longer paying that level of interest now that they own the club (i.e., interest free loans from them, like wot SJM di...

Re: Club up for sale again?

I am going to assume this interest is on the £60m loan that was lent to us by the Chinese?? However the whole tweet is a little more interesting and shows we are doing good business elsewhere. https://twitter.com/SwissRamble/status/1016950050369556482 This is dated season 16/17 fwiw. Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Out of interest - are they standing throughout the game? This is going to be a problem at some point, especially if the stewards are stricter in the East Stand or away end when it comes to standing. Club 1871 should be careful they aren't seen to be getting special treatment. One of the things abou...

Ah you must have dared to criticise him slightly. He is such a precious little thing. I tweeted him this: 11 Mar 2017 Outstanding performance lads. 14 away games on the bounce and I won't make it 15. @gmccleary12 @Chrisgunter16 @pmacca15 #nofight #readingfc After our drumming up at Preston in the p...

Re: Rival Watch

Nothing at all suss to be honest with you. Have you looked into the new ownership? It's nothing ground breaking, but will hopefully take the club forward and ultimately be good for the Town (City...) Not looked into it at all, it was a conversation with the ownership of another club around that lev...

Re: Rival Watch

I don't get why people that go to games get annoyed when they see that other clubs have far more games on TV. It doesn't effect you and I couldn't care less if Leeds are on TV 5 times and we're on once. Possibly the same people would get annoyed if we were on tv and as a result had our games switch...

Re: Rival Watch

They're not a rival (yet), but Reading City did well in their first game at the weekend, winning 5-1 I think it was, away. They play at home tonight down Scours Lane. Under 16's free entry. It'd be good to see some Reading fans lend them some support instead of the other local clubs like Maidenhead...

Re: Rumour Kortney Hause

His wage demands prb goes someway to explain that despite the supposed huge interest in him from championship clubs (as stated by Boro and Chairman)..no deal has been agreed so far...he may just price himself out of the market... If he, or his agent, have any sense, those will drop over the next fe...

Maybe they think he'll go in the January window, and want to get a replacement in now while there's more available?

Re: Card/cash only

The football was better so here's my moan... Card only tills. FFS! Debit cards aren't exactly new. Contactless is the way forward. Haven't you heard? Everyone's doing it. Buy some more card machines and train the staff. and while I'm at it. Rollover hotdogs. Bleurgh. I think they should ban all cas...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h) sponsored by a new hope

One game, so many opinions Bod worked hard, but his first touch is dire. Good goal, but should have done better with opportunities in the first half Swift - OK. Looked a bit lethargic actually which is worrying so early in the season Kelly and Meyler. I like Meyler a lot, much better than Joey in th...

I actually quite like that. Do you? I'm not looking forward to seeing Blackett playing LB, but there you go, we all have our opinions. Was being a bit facetious. Gunter is better at LB than he is at RB and certainly better than Blackett there. Is Richards injured? Not that I know of, but Clement te...
