Re: My first rumour report. Things not well at Reading.

Is Madejski really too poor/uninterested to buy the club back and get it on some kind of decent footing? He can't take the money with him and there's no spouse to think about. Think he's lost a lot of money according to this video: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-berkshire-27418445/reading...

Re: Clement

Keep until Christmas and see where we are. If in relegation zone, new manager in with a Jan transfer window to try and resolve the problems. Wait until we're dead and buried, great idea. A new person could start evaluating throughout the entire club incl academy and working on transfer plans now y'...

Re: Gourlay

I honestly want him gone as soon as possible. The owners did appoint him, but I do feel sorry for both of them, as they are likely to have been badly advised by Gourlay during his time at the club. He seems poisonous, and needs to face the media soon before he's criticised further.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Would be amazing to get 2000 fans this section of the stadium but at the moment surely this is costing the club a lot in terms of revenue (ticket sales and therefore refreshment revenue), especially when teams like Leeds and Aston Villa have the ability to bring 4,000 fans down easily. Not against C...

Re: Gourlay

I have no idea whether the rumours about him being toxic around the club are true though, it'll be interesting to find out whether that was the case when he does leave, if it ever comes out. We've gone so far downhill since he's come in, I just don't think he's suitable for the job at all.

Re: Gourlay

Thoughts on Gourlay after this transfer window? Gourlay In or Out? Not a fan of the guy but I'm intrigued to see what people on here think, he's getting pelters on Twitter.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Watford (h) sponsored by a difficulty to enthuse

If that had been Liverpool or Arsenal I would not be too worried. But that was Watford. Reserves. And they totally, wholly and uncompromisingly outclassed us in every department. A club we would have considered to be of a similar standing as ourselves. Meite, Moore and Ilori, whilst not perfect, ca...

Re: Summer Transfers

Moving on to the midfield, it's not looking all that great. Meyler has come in, who was released by Hull City, thought he could be a good addition to give us more steel in midfield but there must be a reason why Hull released him. Bacuna can be good sometimes but is quite inconsistent, Kelly has bee...

Re: Summer Transfers

RoyalJones, well said, good insight. Do you like the look of Meite? Watching the game yesterday, there was a spell of about 10 mins late on where he was dominant in the air. Our goal was a direct result of another header he won, he flicked it on and split the defense, allowing Sims to run on to it ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Watford (h) sponsored by a difficulty to enthuse

Southwood Gunter -- Osho -- McShane -- Richards Popa -- Bacuna -- Rinomhota -- Sims McNulty -- Meite Might be a bit inexperienced but would love some of these players to be given a game. Southwood won't start but would be nice to see a glimpse of him in goal. Osho probably won't play either.

Re: BFTG - Aston Villa (A)

J-Low just mentioned Aluko's substitution yesterday, intrigued by this (shows how boring my life is), seemed bizzare that he walked off slowly considering we were 1-0 down at the time. Apparently there was a few jeers from our fans as he went off, can anyone who went elaborate on that or have a diff...

Re: Summer Transfers

On a more positive note, Southwood and Ward are both tied down to new contracts, bad news, they are now fourth and fifth in the pecking order at best. Probably time for Anssi Jaakkola to be sold in the January transfer window if we had any sense, Clement said he wanted three good goalkeepers so doub...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Aston Villa (a) sponsored by hoping it's 1959/1960 all over again

Really happy with the point. Still see Paul Clement as more of a coach than a manager but that's not me calling for him to be sacked, think he could steady the ship, and some of the football we've played has been okay, but I don't think he'll take us to the next level (happy to be proved wrong), nei...

Re: Summer Transfers

Because Gourlay shares the same agent as Walker and has clearly struck up a deal to pocket some of the signing on the fee. The same can be said for the majority of players we have signed under his tenure. The bloke is taking us all for a ride, and pocketing a fortune in the process. There literally...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Aston Villa (a) sponsored by hoping it's 1959/1960 all over again

Villa are annoying me. They’re meant to be facing a tough financial situation but there doesn’t seem to be too much affecting the squad they have and Yannick Bolaise is the latest name expected to be joining them on loan before Saturday. This is exactly what I was thinking about over the past few d...

Re: Summer Transfers

I have a few questions regarding the business we've done this summer: Why did we sign Sam Walker when we have Jaakkola as back up already and several talented youth goalkeepes, increasing our wage bill even more when we already have a large wage bill since our squad is rammed full of average players...

Re: Smallest Attack in Champ

Would still like to see another target man come in regardless but that won't happen now, think Meite should be put on the wing and Bodvarsson therefore would be our only target man striker (I think?) with Kermorgant terminating his contract, could do with another one especially if we are playing on...

Re: Clement OUT!!!!

The issue is far above the manager. We are suffering because of poor signings, poor board and managerial appointments. The Dai's, Gourlay and Tevreden need to go. Agree with the poor signings part, we have so much deadwood: Jaakkola O'Shea Edwards McCleary Harriott Popa (arguably, quite like him th...
