Re: Summer Transfers

Two bids from us rejected for Marc McNulty according to Sky Sports, second bid in excess of £500,000, falls well below Coventry's valuation of the striker.

Re: Tommy Elphick

Don’t think JLow has ever broken anything, think this is just a rehash of old news Notice Villa have re-signed Alan Hutton who is no doubt on big wages. Suggests maybe the situation there not as bad as been made out Has taken a pay cut apparently, not sure to what extent his wages have been cut down

Re: Rumour - Vito Mannone

Only positive of this is the chance for the younger goalkeepers to be promoted to the senior team, just wish we didn't give Jaakkola a contract. Clement will probably buy a new keeper if Vito goes however, so not an ideal situation.

Re: Tommy Elphick

There must have been an option to buy Elphick at the end of his loan for a set amount, the price was probably not too high as they were not in the situation they are in now. Must be all up to Elphick now, think the fact we are a southern team will appeal to him based on previous clubs and where he w...

Re: Strikers.

McBurnie + a marquee striker signing would be very good. Don't know if we'd be able to get him permanently for a reasonable fee (probably not considering his performances at Barnsley have been very good + his young age). A new striker signing starting with McBurnie and Bodvarsson on the bench could ...

Re: Summer Transfers

Jaakkola and/or Bond will leave (Have Legg, Southwood or Ward in contention; with one being understudy or the number 3 goalkeeper, send one out on loan and have one as the U23s goalkeeper) I would personally promote Southwood if he signs a new contract. We'll keep Gunter, Obita, Bacuna, Richards and...

Re: Building for next season

One of my concerns is that Clement said he's going to use his contacts this summer to bring in new players, I hope we don't bring loan players in from Chelsea, they don't often work! Our loans from Chelsea in the last fifteen years: 1) Ryan Bertrand 2) Nathaniel Chalobah 3) Nathan Aké 4) Lucas Piaz...

Re: Building for next season

Thankfully, we're in the Championship next season. One of my concerns is that Clement said he's going to use his contacts this summer to bring in new players, I hope we don't bring loan players in from Chelsea, they don't often work! Additionally, I'm a bit concerned that Clement is more of a coach ...

Re: Building for next season

In terms of our goalkeeping position, think Mannone will retain his #1 spot, with at least one of Bond/Jaakkola moving on. That will provide space for Legg, Ward, Southwood etc to be an understudy or third in the pecking order, would really like to retain our identity of giving youth a chance. Axel ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Ipswich Town (h) sponsored by just do it!

I'm still not 100% on Blackett, but doubt we'd turn down the chance to move him on. Personally I'd like to see us sell on Joey, McShane, Edwards, Evans, Aluko, Gravenberch, Weiser. And not renew anyone OOC. Would free up some squad space to bring in some of the U23s and a couple of biggish signings...

Re: Cardiff City (A)

I remember the last game of the season at Derby a few years ago was also on the TV (Appiah, Hector and McCleary scoring), let's hope we can derail another team's hopes for promotion again against Cardiff!

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Who do we want to see given a go in the first team next season? For me, I would like to see: - Legg, Ward or Southwood on the bench (if both Bond and Jaakkola are released) - Watson - Richards - Andresson - Holmes (if Andresson is loaned out or suffers a dip in form) - Rinomhota - Frost - Barrett - ...

Re: Building for next season

At board level, I don't think the Chinese owners are at fault at all for this season's catastrophe. Think our recruitment policy needs a re-think. On the fence about Gourlay and B-Tev still however. Think we've done well to tie down several young players to contracts, work done by Gourlay I think. I...

Re: Building for next season

Steven Reid is looking to have been a huge loss this season. Hopefully we can get the players fit and ready with the additions of Gibbs and Halabi. We might even have a further re-shuffle of the coaching staff at the end of the season with Michael Gilkes facing the chop perhaps? Maybe that's too far...
