Re: “ Sell before we Dai “ supporters action group v2.1

What are we wanting from a new owner if Dai sells up then?

Someone who pays players and staff on time and in full has to be a key priority, as well as hiring knowledgable people behind the scenes and giving them the power to make key decisions.

Re: Marc McNulty arrested for match fixing

Got to be careful with contempt of court now proceedings are active. Twitter has been especially bad with people making comments on whether he's guilty or not.

Re: Rumour - Saeid Ezatolahi

This whole rumour shows the ridiculousness of football transfer stories. 1. FLW writer comes up with a story suggesting who Leeds might look at, to replace Kalvin Phillips if he leaves. 2. Because (him being a Reading fan), he suggests Ezatolahi, some Iranian football website picks up tht part of t...

biff Rumours circulating on WACCOE that Eza could well be joining them next season.

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Chelsea lost their appeal against a transfer ban. Will that make it easier or harder to sign players from them? Miazga: The players who are likely to be ahead of Miazga at Chelsea: Rudiger, Christensen, Luiz, Zouma, Ampadu Those who are on a similar level: Tomori, Kalas, Clarke-Salter, Omeruo, T Ch...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Jem Karacan deserves a whole page about him :P what a player he has before his terrible injuries. My thread on Twitter about the possible state of the squad going in to next season. This probably shows why Jose Gomes is the manager and not me tbh  As a young aspiring journalist (have to say a...

PistolPete Not a chance in hell O'Shea was on £40k per week!

This is Ron Gourlay we're talking about :D but in all seriousness, I find it hard to believe he was on £40k/week

Re: Next Season's Squad.

This is the squad list based on possible departures, the players in red could go. GK – Southwood, Ward, Martinez (loanee), Mannone (on loan, perm in Jan 2020), Walker, Jaakkola CB – Moore, McIntyre, Osho, Holmes, Miazga (loanee), McShane, O’Shea, Gravenberch LB – Obita (if fit), Blackett, Medford-Sm...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

So if McShane, O'Shea, Jaakkola, Popa, JvdB, Gravenberch and Harriott all leave on a free that's gotta be 60-70k in wages freed up right? Add into that selling Kelly and Meyler and maybe another 25-30k in wages freed up? Would that really not be enough to turn the financial tide? Obviously there ar...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Hound What would constitute ‘cut-price’ for Kelly?

Think his contract runs out next July. Can't see it being anything more than £1m despite his potential. Hopefully I'm proved wrong.

Re: Next Season's Squad.

We need to work out which of the U23s are actually good enough to make the step up to the first team squad: GK: Southwood and Ward are in with a shout of being second and third choice next season I think with 2/3 senior keepers potentially going. CB: Osho and McIntyre will probably make the step up,...

Re: Next Season.

Mannone, Jaakkola and Walker to go in the summer I think. Southwood to be understudy and Ward to be third choice would be ideal. Signing Martinez would be great, we need a new #1 either way. Chris Gunter may look to move on in the summer after being left out of the starting eleven. Watson could comp...

Surely it's time for a change of medical staff at the end of the season. These small injury problems keep on becoming something bigger. This has been going on for a few years now.

Re: My first rumour report. Things not well at Reading.

Is Madejski really too poor/uninterested to buy the club back and get it on some kind of decent footing? He can't take the money with him and there's no spouse to think about. Think he's lost a lot of money according to this video: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-berkshire-27418445/reading...

Keep until Christmas and see where we are. If in relegation zone, new manager in with a Jan transfer window to try and resolve the problems. Wait until we're dead and buried, great idea. A new person could start evaluating throughout the entire club incl academy and working on transfer plans now y'...

Re: Gourlay

I honestly want him gone as soon as possible. The owners did appoint him, but I do feel sorry for both of them, as they are likely to have been badly advised by Gourlay during his time at the club. He seems poisonous, and needs to face the media soon before he's criticised further.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Would be amazing to get 2000 fans this section of the stadium but at the moment surely this is costing the club a lot in terms of revenue (ticket sales and therefore refreshment revenue), especially when teams like Leeds and Aston Villa have the ability to bring 4,000 fans down easily. Not against C...

I have no idea whether the rumours about him being toxic around the club are true though, it'll be interesting to find out whether that was the case when he does leave, if it ever comes out. We've gone so far downhill since he's come in, I just don't think he's suitable for the job at all.

Thoughts on Gourlay after this transfer window? Gourlay In or Out? Not a fan of the guy but I'm intrigued to see what people on here think, he's getting pelters on Twitter.
