Re: Thatcham Town FA Vase Final

Jackson Corner Is it on TV?

Yes, it's on BT Sport, followed by the FA Trophy final. It's the third year in a row that they have shown this (since finals day started). I always enjoy FA Non League finals day, and I think it is certainly one of the better ideas that the FA have come up with for Wembley. 8)

Re: 2017/2018 - What went wrong?

Perhaps it would be more enlightening to compare this season's performances to last season's. Has Swift started making fewer incisive passes? Is Gunter making fewer tackles? Is Joey passing backwards more? That way you're actually using a comparison rather than just looking at numbers and trying to...

2017/2018 - What went wrong?

This is my first post in a couple of years (other than a very short one about Lewis Ward last week), but I thought that this season had been so poor, it needed some Analysis. Of course, there are simple answers such as "style of play", "not enough wins", "Jaap Stam" etc...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Just watched the Aldershot/Ebbsfleet Penalty Shootout, Lewis Ward saved 2 penalties after saving one during the 90 minutes too, then stepped up to take a sudden death penalty and hit the post... gutted for him!

Re: The romance of the cup

This tie has brought up a lot of talk of our manager for obvious reasons. However, in the unlikely event that we do actually manage to win this tie, I think that we should dedicate the win to one Stephen Hunt. As surprisingly, I have yet to see mention of a certain manager. One that I believe is the...

Reading Fined following the Newcastle Game

Apologies if this has already been posted somewhere, but I have not seen it mentioned, Over on Get Reading it was reported yesterday that we have got fined for "Excessive Appealing following Gayle's "goal". You know... the one that was handled into the net and then disallowed by the r...

Radio Berkshire is not allowed to broadcast from their site due to terms of their contract. Berkshire on Reading Player only just come through however.

Re: Newcastle ( A) match thread sponsored by Danny Guthrie

Have Commentary now, but I also had nothing on Reading Player for first 7 minutes of the match. Keeping a tally, and so far have missed 32 minutes of the season. I am getting thoroughly fed up with the same problem every match. Why can they not get their act together and sort this out?

IS anyone else having problems on Reading Player? I have no commentary yet, and all I get is the prematch that was on Radio Berkshire at 2:00.

Re: Record Watch 2016-17

Time for annual monitoring of 2 proud club records. 13 wins from the start of the season 106 points in a football league season Given that 14 wins in a row is the most any team has ever achieved at any time in English Professional football, I very much doubt the 13 wins from a season's start will e...

Re: Summer Rebuild 2016/2017

In today's part of Charlie Watts' interview with Brian Tevreden over on Get Reading, I found this Interesting - and slightly surprising. CW: So what about other departures. Do you need to sell anyone else? BT: No, we don’t need to sell. People think we do, but we don’t. For now, we’re not planning o...

Re: Reading FC not invited to the... erm... party?

Looking at the dates of the first round matches, I see that they are all the Tuesday before international matches. So I am not sure how many of even our U21 players will be there for the matches, as they may be off for U21 internationals. I still don't like the idea of the new format, but I can see ...

Re: Are you getting excited yet?

Never mind this time last year, I'm fairly sure most of us were getting excited around October time last year. Therefore this season, I will reserve judgement, and won't get excited until we are well into the season and I see that the players are playing well together, and I am convinced that the ow...

Charles Watts also mentions this: But getreading understands that is not the case and that Campi is in fact available as a free agent - despite him still being contracted to Argentine side Racing Club until June 2017. If he's as good as he looks and sounds, then it would be an even better deal! (Alt...

Re: Reading FC not invited to the... erm... party?

So what happens if the F.A. can't muster 16 cat 1 teams? This idea is beginning to look dead in the water before it even starts.

Also, are there any teams in League 1 and League 2 with Cat 1? If so, would they then get 2 teams in the cup (and potentially have to play themselves)?

Reading FC not invited to the... erm... party?

From the *cough* EFL *cough* website. The EFL has confirmed the format of the EFL Trophy 2016/17 which, for the first time, will include 16 invited teams from clubs with Category One Academies. A total of 64 clubs will compete in the competition beginning with 16 groups of four teams, each of which ...

Apparently this was posted at the same time as I posted it (mods you can delete or merge my thread). CONFIMRED - Rowan Liburd to Stevenage

Seems that Tshibola is not the only young player to be moving on. Rowan Liburd has gone to Stevenage on an undisclosed fee. From the official site: Rowan Liburd has today completed a permanent transfer from Reading to Sky Bet League 2 outfit Stevenage for an undisclosed fee. The 23-year-old moved to...
