Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

McLeish sacked by Scotland. Surely they'll go for Steve Clarke this time round.

Re: Bristol City fan with local info Goodfriday

And as mentioned in another thread, when it comes to pubs my vote goes to the Novia Scotia. A proper old fashioned pub, with proper beer and cider, proper grub (very generous portions and cheap prices), friendly staff and locals and much cheaper than the flashier Pump House the other side of the Ba...

Re: The footballer gets arrested thread

Bit bemused that he's still living in Nether Alderley, seven years after he left United for Leicester. That's a trek and a half to get to Chelsea's Cobham training ground.

Re: BFTG - PNE

Oh yeah, the only difference for Ejaria and Baker is that they started slower and have had some downs as well as ups. The other three have just been consistently a cut above. The other two are left somewhat in their shadow by just how good those three are. That's probably a little unfair, Ejaria ha...

Re: Bftg- Wigan (h)

I genuinely didnt know you could give a coach a yellow until yesterday. I thought it was sent to the stands or nowt. Im assuming the coach got lippy with the 4th official or had a ruckus with ths Wigan bench because he seemed to be gesturing in that directionwhen carded My view from the East Stand ...

Re: New beefeater

is there a pub on that Kennett Island place? Thought that wouldn't be a bad place in that its close to the ground and would get the locals during the week There was one on there once, but apparently it was pretty awful. Now called Fidget and Bob, all-day café/bar type place. More café than bar I th...

last good loan? probably Steve Blatherwick 2 best loan signings were: Matthew Upson Glen Little Little was really average on his loan spell. He even admitted as much at the FPA night last year. No doubting his pedigree once he signed mind. Upson was different class. Upson and Glenn Murray have been...

Re: BFTG QPR

I think Swift is a pretty typical Academy product from the top 6. Barring the top ones, like your Sterlings, Rashfords and Kanes, far too many of the players the system churns out now are pretty and technical and look good on the highlights but lack something, be it drive, application or mental tou...

That doesn't sound unrealistic. Remember the vague rumours of us looking at Pulis, possibly post-Adkins, and his basic was rumoured to be £1 million, more than double what we were used to paying.

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

Yeah, not too much of a loss tbf. Reading has three teams of its own (four including Shire Hall), one of which, The Rams (Redingensians as was) is tearing up the National 2 South right now. Echo the Womans team sentiment The Rams are doing brilliantly, incredible achievement if they get to tier 3. ...

Re: BFTG Rotherham

Bit surprised at some of the negativity TBH. First away game of the season; and yes the goal was soft, yes we needed reinforcements and yes Rotherham weren't the best first half, but compared to pretty much all I've seen this season, I really quite enjoyed the game. Wouldn't give anyone low marks, t...

Re: Nations League & Friendlies

TBF to UEFA this Nations League has actually been pretty good, but it seems very few people understand the qualification/promotion rules. Chap on Saturday at Junior#2's football match was insistent that England would qualify automatically for Euro2020 as long as they defeated Croatia the following d...

Re: BFT - I don’t know what to call it

They were both standing on the touch line for about three minutes before the fakes had their corners though. Did the ball go out of play in that time? Before QPRs first corner but after Swift and Sims had been confirmed as coming on? Yes for a throw in in the QPR half. He even had the opportunity t...
