Re: Leeds v RFC Back from the Tele

Anyone hear Christiansen's bizarre post match comments about not criticising refs because that's how foreign managers lose their job? Not withstanding that Arsene Wenger is the longest serving manager in England and has made a career out of criticising officials, that's sounds like a manager strugg...

Re: Leeds v RFC Back from the Tele

His turn of pace for the goal was amazing. Exactly the kind of player we missed last year. Kind of player we’ve missed this year (when he was injured) even more He makes a massive difference to our attacking threat. Was really hoping Aluko would be another version of him and and they could terroris...

Re: Dutch possession based football R.I.P.

To an extent i think the talk about systems and such like is a little overblown anyway Its just a case of playing well sometimes. We've seen success over the last couple of years playing all sorts of styles - Leicester with their counter attack, Chelsea with their 3-4-3, Us and Hudders last year wit...

Re: Dutch possession based football R.I.P.

Yeah read that earlier, was an interesting piece

I think Jaap has at times been more concerned with sticking to his principles that working out the best way to win the game

Good signs on Saturday both with the tactics but also his comments afterwards about letting Leeds have the ball

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leeds United (a) sponsored by a deep dark realisation that this way creeps

The Villa fans obvs had little time for Bacuna towards the end, but they seemed to be in agreement he was actually a pretty decent right back

I’d happily see him stay there for a while. We have plenty of other bodies in midfield who can cover for him, esp when Swift comes back

Re: In or Out?

Think I said before but it was seeing the tactics change that gives Stam more time for me. If we’d play like we did at Millwall but scraped a win, I’d have been less convinced than if we’d plays as we did yesterday and unluckily drawn or lost

They are. Have a solid system and stick with pretty much the same line up

Also noticed Hugill has scored plenty. Think he would have been an excellent signing actually

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leeds United (a) sponsored by a deep dark realisation that this way creeps

Obv it’s just one result, but if we did win that ‘game in hand’ we’d be slap bang mid table with plenty still to play

Clearly need to follow it up in the next tough game, but seems we have a blueprint now for an away performance

Re: Leeds v RFC Back from the Tele

Highlights are on SS

We looked decent, all the chances shown were pretty much ours. Great ball for the goal and the pen was debatable to say the least

That Bacuna interception on their break was superb. He looks a good player

Sounds like Stam did indeed tweak the tactics as well, and we made chances

I think Ilori and Moore is the way forward at CB as well

Fantastic stuff

Objectively that’s a brilliant result at a very hard place to go. Should do absolute wonders for our confidence

Let’s just enjoy this one

Tbf, we’ve generally contained well all season

Issues have been losses of concentration leading to silly goals and no cutting edge

Learnt some lessons?

Low reckons McCleary and Gunter wing backs in a 5

But also says Bacuna is CB which I’m presuming isn’t correct
