Re: Charlie Watts - great journo

yeah, but following the injury.

Not 100% but think thats what happened. Gareth's was pre-planned after he struggled with his abdomen/groin 2nd half of last year

Re: BFTG - Hull

looking around the various news sites, seems Bacuna was injured, hopefully back for tmrw and Yann should be involved again after the international break.

Would give us a much needed boost if we could start getting Yann back into the side. Sorely missed.

Re: Jaap's Radio Comments

1) You don't join Reading FC and expect a loud and partisan crowd. Serious question... I know when players are moving they speak to one another and say "I've had an offer from XYZ... any thoughts?". Do you think players at any point will say "Reading have offered a contract, any thou...

Re: Jaap's Radio Comments

Simply brilliant.. The Tilehurst End, Elm Park... Look up the location Stam. https://thetilehurstend.sbnation.com/2017/9/24/16356912/reading-fc-opinion-honeymoon-over-how-to-lose-friends-and-alienate-people-by-jaap-stam Bits I agree with (lack of urgency esp) bits I don't As stated we do have a pla...

Re: BFTG - Hull

It wasn't ludicrous, it worked, but it was always going to get a reaction from the crowd Personally would have taken VDB off and moved Kelly forward but can understand why he was taken off. Ilori as pointed out was very good when he came on. Good at the back and got a lot of attacks started with qui...

Re: Jaap's Radio Comments

Booing only ever serves to piss off the players and the management, never seen the point in it. Everybody getting their knickers in twist over Stam calling them on it should calm down. You know the way he wants us to play, if you don't like it, don't go. Storm in a tea cup. Move along. There really...

Re: BFTG - Hull

I agree with quite a bit of that LWJ, but not all Harsh on Blackett though - he has looked good this year and was decent first half (good through ball set up that chance as well). He is a cb playing lb though and it shows. He is a good player imo JVDB wasn't good. When he plays well he adds bite and...

Re: Jaap's Radio Comments

Regarding the wingers, I thought we missed Barrow massively. He has provided all the movement and aggression we completely lacked up front yesterday

Re: Jaap's Radio Comments

I agree Stam is a bit of a 'pcunt' - but I think that is not necessarily a bad thing He has never really tried to make himself popular has he? Not sure he actually gives a to$$ if he is liked or not I do think he would benefit from growing a thicker skin though. He doesn't take criticism well at all...

Re: Renewed pessimism/interest

Stam's side doesn't take enough risks. They don't want to lose the ball at all. They just want total possession. They should try the riskier passes, they should try to take players on, they should try to get to the byline and pull the ball back, players should be busting a gut to get forward in num...

Re: BFTG Hull

TBH, wouldn't say the atmosphere was 'awful' just very quiet and a bit nonplussed There's no real negativity bar a few boos, just not a lot of enthusiasm either Also doesn't help when the away team bring about 100 fans It genuinely doesn't take a huge amount to kick the crowd into life - after we sc...

Re: BFTG - Hull

He actually has the tools to be a very decent wing back. Him and JDB worked well down the right flank

I thought he played well there and actually did well to keep his head and get back in the game after a horrendous first hour

Re: Team for Millwall (A)

Would def go 5 at the back. We just look better and Ilori deserves a start imo Problem is Obita is out for a while unless he was seriously over egging that injury which I'm sure wasn't the case - he didn't look good at all. Blackett not a wing back Really want to see Bacuna back in, would go him and...

To be honest, a couple of wins and it will all be forgotten, as it was last year

It was hardly all out mutiny in the stadium. TBH, surprised he even mentioned it

Re: Jaap's Radio Comments

Top Flight, you are of course correct in many ways. The tactical changes worked and we were far better for the subs made. Despite the strong reaction on here, I think most fans would agree that Stam's tactics in generally are pretty bloody good. Something was def wrong today though, and sounds like ...

Re: Jaap's Radio Comments

Agree with nearly all of that nameless As you say, in many ways it wasn't an awful performance. Ball retention was good, it seemed when we could be @rsed we actually created some ok chances. We nullified nearly all their attacking play and looked at times like a team of good players Just a bizarre l...
