Re: Season 2018/2019

yep, the 3 teams that came up were desperately dull and horribly northern. Would happily see all 3 go back down again Predictions - which will no doubt be miles off, and is actually pretty uninspiring: Promotion: Stoke Middlesboro Play offs WBA Swansea Sheff Wed Brentford Relegated: Hull Rotherham B...

Re: The Local Journo Thread

thing is the good journalists rise to the challenge and are still well respected. Charles Watts was decent, and regularly broke stories. Think the feeling was that he had managed to chum up to BT and was getting stuff through him There's other decent ones about at other clubs - the chap from the Bri...

Re: Fixtures

Remember a few years back teams like Mansfield occasionally turning up in the south section of the football league trophy to balance up the numbers, which gives an idea of the balance of north/south in the footy league. Mansfield is proper northern.

see HITC have picked up the Swift thing. Thought for a minute there may be something in it, until I saw them referencing the chronicle as their source

The champ alone is about 75% northern.

Re: Fixtures

don't mind that really - home game, will prob go along, and not really care a great deal if we win or not.

No extra time to worry about it either now

Re: Tommy Elphick

If they sell Chester as seems likely, and have lost Terry, can't really see why they'd want to lose Elphick. Unless we are paying a stupid fee for him, which I wouldn't put past us

Re: Summer Transfers

maybe just create a new thread devoted to those two clowns.

just read the article. They've basically just hacked together the absolute nonsense posted on here over the last couple of days re: Swift, Roofe and Ireland. And put 'heavily linked' or 'unconfirmed reports' before it. Tragic.

He's getting on a bit too. I imagine it's not uncommon for older footballers to take pay cuts so they can get used to living on less money when they retire. ha, I'm sure they don't choose to take the pay cut to help them get used to having less money :) But obviously as they get older they are wort...

Don’t think JLow has ever broken anything, think this is just a rehash of old news

Notice Villa have re-signed Alan Hutton who is no doubt on big wages. Suggests maybe the situation there not as bad as been made out

Re: Rumour: Stephen Ireland

I think the marketing people at the club will be asking the Football League shortly to change our name to London Irish. Justification will be that we have more Irish players than the rugby team and that nowadays Reading is almost a London suburb.. The shame is that unlike in the days of Long and Do...

yep does seem that we are 'no longer in pole position'. But that also suggests we once were which was interesting. Imagine they are of course trying to get a bidding war going

yep the comments on Twitter are shameful, but no surprise there

Thoughts?

A throw away line about him being ‘linked with Reading’ is utterly meaningless
