Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Suspect if we were playing well an averaging 17,000+ then we would be on course for about 600 in there every game - that would make a huge difference. I think this is the crux. We've hit a real low ebb on the pitch, and the ground is only half full. Should we get another couple more Hull performanc...

Re: Club developed players

Millwall suited him perfectly tbh. A good move for him, where the expectation is for him to get his head on the ball and no real pressure to try and play football. Not surprised he has done well

Re: Idle Speculation - Steven Caulker.

McShane is definitely on the way out. Shouldn't have been given the extra year. Caulker may have been ok, though adding another player to our squad, and one with his own personal problems, prob not the best idea

Re: Club developed players

problem with Cooper is he just kept making them. They were always absolute shockers as well - poor back passes straight to a forward, falling over - basically goal creating ones He always looked a talent, but maybe needed a change of scene. I liked him, but think he would have been a disaster under ...

Re: Club developed players

Holmes looked decent enough on the one game he played last year, esp considering the circumstances. Andresson looked capable as well think said elsewhere, PC should basically get the group that played vs Hull, kick out Aluko and bring in either GMac or Harriott, and tell the rest they are off in Jan...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Smiths less than impressive start at Oxford is putting him in a distant 6th at the moment

I’d love to have Nova and Loader around the first team squad, if not the 11 itself this time next year. Realistically unlikely. Bod is still young, as is McNulty and Baldock is on a 3 year deal I think

Re: Danny Loader

I don't think he should be playing quite yet. Hopefully he show a little patience and keep scoring in the U23. Bod and Baldock look a handy partnership and McNulty is next in line. I do think he should have got mins in the cup though. Would be more than happy to start seeing him on the bench though,...

Re: Club developed players

presumably if we were at risk, we'd just name Loader, Southwood or Richards on the bench to be sub number 7

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

where are club is isn't particularly given to a large away support. We take good numbers to the likes of Bristol and Brentford, which no doubt will be sold out. Its a major chore to be travelling up the M6 every other saturday to some northern hellhole to watch whats been a poor side. I'm not surpri...

Re: BFTG , Hull.

Did think a lot of the difference was in the attitude. If we keep that attitude and the hard work of the front 4/5 we should be pretty comfortable (not any more than that) We do seem to be scoring quite freely which I think is always encouraging. 8 between Bod and Baldock now which is a good start. ...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

its a weird one really - but agree we'll prob sell him to a Dutch club for a couple of million in the summer

Would think we'd be crying out to keep a young striker who has come (albeit at a late stage) through our youth set up

Re: BFTG , Hull.

Wasn’t booing as such but there were definitely a few grumbles

Tbh after that performance on Wednesday I don’t think a little reminder of how the fans perceived it is that a bad a thing really. I’m sure he did realise being dropped was deserved but maybe a little confirmation of that won’t hurt

Re: BFTG , Hull.

Aluko clearly has been a major problem with this side and agree id be delighted if he never gets another minute in a Reading shirt

We need a bit of cover on the wings - not sure pressing is really McCleary’s game but he is disciplined. Harriott could do a job if he ever does get fit

Re: BFTG , Hull.

Crowd were very appreciative of the effort

Word gets out that the players are actually trying and winning a few games and we’ll be back at 18k+

Actually enjoyed the first half more than any home game for years.
