Re: In or Out? New poll.

Interesting comments from Liam Moore on JLows gig whatever it is called nowadays. Actually completely nails it very simply, and to me, this is pretty damning of our tactics. "I'm not sure what's changed this season, the results are disappointing compared to last season," said the 24-year-o...

Re: In or Out? New poll.

yeah agree Denver. A large percentage of the clubs in the two divisions have foreign owners, often who aren't 'visible'. There's a healthy percentage of foreign managers who have had no connection to the club previously as well. Its the way football is currently. I don't love the fact, but its the w...

Re: In or Out? New poll.

fine. Pretty boring discussion, and shouldn't have bitten to the LOL If people don't want to believe its one of the better parts of the country, and being close to London and Heathrow which was my original point, make a difference, then ok. I suspect it probably does though. Can we go back to whinge...

ha thats a fair point. One of those teams I take zero notice of, but checked their last two Prem line ups and he started.

Sounds like BS

Re: In or Out? New poll.

it is a nice part of the country, and is close to Heathrow and London. It does make a difference, LOL or not. I speak as one born and bred in Reading and proud of it but "nice part of the country"? you're having a laugh. find all the anti-Reading a bit tiresome. Berkshire is a very nice p...

Re: The Chris Gunter appreciation thread

tbh, I've never really heard him get any abuse. Only from Ian Royal on here plus one or two others. Maybe thats what comes with sitting in the ED Amazed when Stam referred to it last week. He has a seriously thin skin. He's a decent player. Gives his all and actually looks like he really gives a tos...

Re: New winger + possible new striker

Wasn't Marriott priced up at 7mill? Don't know if there is any truth in either of these, but I'd take both. Don't know much about Stockley, but he looks a big lad and scored a fair few goals (admittedly not at a great standard), and Dyer is decent The caveat would be that we'd a shed a load of the w...

Re: Rumour - Chris Martin

Bod does pretty much all of that tbh, and probably as well if not better than Martin

We certainly should be looking to sign another striker for some of the reasons mentioned, but not sure Martin would offer much more than Yann

Re: In or Out? New poll.

I don’t ‘follow’ it either, but will check the feed now and again Don’t think he fact checks but names be source - up to you if you choose to believe it or not Up to you obviously but it’s pretty much first with a lot of the news. God knows what they do all day - seemingly just scout various sites f...

Re: In or Out? New poll.

No idea who runs it but that’s a bit unfair

Basically he/she tweet any reading based news that appear in other outlets, usually without comment. Whoever it is tends to have pretty much the latest news and all the u23 and u18 scores which I like

Can’t be arsed to read all that about Gunter but would say has been in our top 3 players this season with Barrow and Moore. Prob only 3 who can hold their heads up really

Re: In or Out? New poll.

Not really having the poisoned chalice stuff. It’s a well paid job at a decent club with decent facilities in a nice part of the country Wish my job was as much of a poisoned chalice as that Was also very disappointed when McD went second time, but fact is the owners made a brave call that very near...

Re: Who could replace Stam?

I agree - it’s unlikely, but still no harm in asking

Not sure he’ll walk into another job in the prem though. Don’t think his spell at Watford will have won him too many admirers - trying to move to Everton and 10 without a win or whatever it is

Worth asking the question isn’t it? Wouldn’t have to uproot and someone who you could invest some time in

Unlikely but then so was Jaap Stam 2 years ago

Re: BFTG Brentford

TBH not sure it makes much difference if the owners are there

Gourlay runs the football side of things - it’s his decision and in his hands. If he recommended to the owners they bin Stam, it will happen

Re: In or Out? New poll.

I don’t see much point over analysing On paper we’re probably a mid table champ club. I have no real issue with being that. We can talk about losing our soul or whatever but that is pretty much the way for all clubs, that’s how football has developed rightly or wrongly If the performances on the pit...

Re: In or Out? New poll.

The squad is plenty good enough to be mid table at least. The management all season pretty much has been terrible. Even those of us who wanted Stam to be given a good run were saying that. It’s too long now - we are only going one way with him and his team in charge Should go now and put the chap fr...
