The only one off the top of my head I can remember is England vs Spain in Euro '96

Re: CONFIMRED - John Swift

Yep, utterly predictable conclusion

I can barely remember an important match in my lifetime that the team i wanted to win on pens actually did so

Re: Sunderland Crap

All well and good arguing and listing the cultural virtues of our beloved town, but from a football awayday perspective the Madejski undoubtedly ranks up there with Coventry and MK Dons as the worst in the country unfortunately. well yes its not great. Can make a decent day of it by getting to the ...

Re: Players you'd like us to sign thread

Apologies if he's already been mentioned, but what's Nathaniel Chalobah's situation? He did well for us on loan a few seasons back and doesn't seem to be any closer to the Chelsea first team. Could be a good Williams replacement but I guess WCBAP - he was rumoured to be earning 35k a week from Chel...

Re: Summer Ins and Outs

to be honest, if they are of a good enough level I think we would give them a chance. Kelly is in the first 11 now, Watson will hopefully follow him in the near future. Tish came through the year before. I just feel this batch of youngsters aren't quite good enough. Stacey, Tanner, Fosu didn't reall...

Re: RUMOUR - Andy Yiadom

Gunter frustrates me, as he does pretty much everyone to some extent, as I think he has shown the capability. Him and McCleary sometimes combine beautifully, and when he does race down the wing he can cross a good ball (thinking the Swift miss vs Fulham as an example) just does it so rarely. But i g...

Re: RUMOUR - Andy Yiadom

I'd happily take him if he was available and would come to us.

One thing that I would really like us to do this year, esp if we play 5 at the back is to have the full backs push right on, pretty much as Fulham do. Obita could certainly do it successfully.

Re: RUMOUR - Andy Yiadom

interesting to note we've been linked with a few new right backs - one area I didn't think Stam would be looking at all with Gunter and Watson.

Heard this lad was highly rated, but not much more than that

Re: Sunderland Crap

obviously agree with the above. Comparing Reading to Stoke is absolutely nonsensical, and actually should have stopped reading at that point.

I hope the chap that wrote it actually spends a bit of time in the town next visit, and hopefully has a better experience

Re: Summer Ins and Outs

Think it is sending strong signals that the younger fringe players don't see a decent route through to the first team under Stam. Lot of strength ahead of them. He brought Liam Kelly through... I get that. If you are good enough you will get the opportunity. But the bar has been raised at the momen...

Re: CONFIMRED - John Swift

Yeah I think the extra games and the exposure from the tournament will do him good and help his confidence

He had a long break mid season and I'm hoping he'll be back to last years early season form come August

Re: Sunderland Crap

Fine. Get its bantz or whatever, But comes back to the point you shouldn't really slate Reading as Boring when you live somewhere as awful as Sunderland, and when it's really not the case. Which was the original starting point to the post.

Re: Sunderland Crap

TBF - there isn't really that much to disagree with here. Reading has it's pleasant parts, such as Pangbourne, Caversham (for the most part) etc.. "I bet you cannot name me one thing interesting about Reading. Well, aside from Reading Festival (which is just the posh version of the much cooler...
