Re: Current Form Vs Odds

played a fair few big games for Utd I think. Millions watching on TV etc. Remember him scoring an own goal against Arsenal For me I guess there's a difference between playing in big games, and having a lot expected of you in those big games. Take your point though. Actually big one to miss is Stam ...

Re: Current Form Vs Odds

There are so many different variables on a day like that, odds/form really go out of the window. Goals scored etc during the regular season has very little bearing on this game Best guidance is the play off semis I would say - where both teams looked fairly tight defensively and didn't offer a huge ...

Re: Current Form Vs Odds

Take all the stats and form etc out of it, and I reckon its a 50/50 chance for both sides personally. Both very similar.

Re: An analysis of promoted teams in the play-off era

was quite an interesting analysis.

It will certainly be a big challenge for whichever side goes up next week to hang around and prosper in the Prem. You would think some very astute signings would have to be made by either side to give them a chance

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

To be honest, they've made their statement. I don't want to hear constant Tony Fernandes style updates in everything that is going on They've already shown they have some cash to spend, they can't ask for a better management team already in place which they will no doubt try to tie down to longer de...

To be fair they are the only team in the top 10 I haven't grown to dislike this season

Seem a decent club all round and good luck to them. May the best team win along with other such cliches

Re: Stay off the pitch!

I didn't mind Tuesday's pitch invasion too much although I would have preferred it not to happen - I wanted to just watch the players celebrate on the pitch and spend time sharing it with the fans. Rather than tons of fans flocking on and then players disappeared immediately. Yeah this exactly I fo...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town v Reading, Play Off Final, 29 May 2017 (Wembley)

The championship is definitely a more 'fun' league. A few further tweaks to our playing style and squad and next year could be memorable. However it could also be a struggle- just never know which teams will 'do a Reading/Huddersfield ' next season and improve massively, whilst the relegated teams w...

Noticed the same the other day. The prem is very southern overall, whilst the champ is basically a tour of all the various dumps up north

Another good reason to go up next week

Re: A pundit just backed us!

Lawrenson on 5 live - just pointed out that both the teams in the Championship play off final have German managers. Oh dear... Ha brilliant... Prutton to be fair has been fairly complementary about us this year. Don't mind him personally. Certainly a lot worse, the likes of Beagrie and Colin for ex...

Re: Huddersfield fan on train from Maidenhead

b) What kind of reaction might I reasonably expect from those on-board if I rock up in my Town shirt? I'd love to think that there might be a handshake or two and a bit of pre-match banter, but not sure I could hand-on-heart say that that would be the experience of a Reading fan if they were travel...

Re: Where does Jaap Stand ?

Depends a lot on if we get up, and whether he hangs around. The job he has done so far has been nothing short of magnificent. We have improved considerably in every area of the pitch. Was just thinking the other day how much we have learnt from those breakaway goals we kept conceeding against the li...

Re: Players you'd like us to sign thread

If we go up, I suspect a fair number of the Ajax side would be under consideration. Jaap obviously knows them well, and they would likely be happy enough to come to a lower end Prem club given the wages on offer

Re: Team for Huddersfield

You could play 3-5-2 with Gunter and Obita much further forward than against Fulham. I don't think Obita will be fit. The club are just keeping quiet to keep Huddersfield guessing and uncertain. If not, Id consider McCleary at RWB, Gunter at LWB. McCleary did a decent job there once he got into the...
