Re: Rumour - Chris Martin

The club isn’t in dire straits. It just made a bid which hasn’t yet been deemed acceptable by his parent club

It might be more of a sign for how desperate Sunderland are that they’ve gone straight in and matched Derby’s demands, which I believe are covering his whole wages (and maybe a fee as well)

Re: Rumour - Chris Martin

Update on SS news, went into some depth

Sunderland have agreed deal with Derby but ‘a lot of work to do’ to persuade Martin to move there

Reading still interested but have not as yet agreed deal with Derby

Suggested without saying in so many words that he’d rather come to us

Are they not? Thought Rodwell has refused to rip up his contract unless I missed something

Re: Rumour - Chris Martin

I suspect Sunderland are far happier to pay that than us

If Martin is happy enough to join them, then it’s probably a done deal

Re: Rumour - Chris Martin

Let's not panic until the window shuts and once again Reading will have done sod all about a striker but more than likely will have got another midfielder in. ^^^ This has happened once Would have been good to have wrapped it up - but Sunderland were always in the chase. Presume Derby will come bac...

Re: Back from the game Stevenage

Gunter's been one of our best players this season (admittedly not a high bar). Watson hasn't played for the first team for a year, and even then only had a few games There's a long way to go to see Watson as a replacement for Gunter. Gunter on the right, and Richards on the left is the way to go at...

Re: Starting XI

I think people get carried away with Richards. He does look great, but under the pressure that we are at the moment I’d rather stick Gunter in there and cover RB with someone else (Bacuna etc). It’s possible that the vultures and boo boys could ruin the kids confidence if he messes up, whereas Gunt...

not sure anyone is getting carried away. He should have had a lot more starts based on his form in the league games as well.

I can see Chris Coleman coming in for him in the summer when he rebuilds that Sunderland squad (if he's still there by then).

Re: Rumour - Chris Martin

I've heard that in here before, genome, as if its some kind of justification for the negativity. Assuming its even true, just for the record we don't necessarily want to just be like other fans/clubs, right? We want to be BETTER than other fans/clubs, right? Or am I being too presumptuous in that t...

I’d consider Dadi on the right wing. Believe he plays there successfully for Iceland
Not writing McCleary off quite yet personally though, think he still has something to offer
