Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (a) sponsored by Dick Habbin

Think I would have started Osho above McIntyre

Been playing in the national league with some success and prob more used to physical games. Looks a bit bigger and stronger than McIntyre as well

Still be good to see how he gets on

5 Academy lads in the squad

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (a) sponsored by Dick Habbin

Ah yeah McNulty. Knew we were missing someone I expected

Aluko has had it. Expect they’ll be trying to give him away in Jan

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (a) sponsored by Dick Habbin

Would hardly say picking Sims ahead of Barrow is a farce exactly

Gruesome weather. About as far from Swift conditions as I could imagine

Re: New Manager

Tbf they didn’t seem to upset when he left. My guess is Howe chatted to the players and that had an influence on the decision to sack him However, I thought the players did seem to respond to him at times, and he rarely threw people under the bus in interviews, when he often could have (McShane at B...

Re: New Manager

I'm not sure if often does, does it? In saying that, know what you mean, seemed even less than usual

Heard he was a lovely bloke and all that, but that was about it

Re: New Manager

Why did they take so long to sack Stam though? He should have gone after Burton, or at the very least the Birmingham home game, but he ploughed on till the end of March with about 1 win in that time Are you having a laugh? Yes the Burton game started the rot but we were still in play off contention...

Are you saying you'd be happy enough with Grayson?

I think he did a good job with Preston.

But no, wouldn't be delighted with him.

Re: New Manager

my guess is we may well come back round to one of Parkinson, Ainsworth or possibly Simon Grayson (who actually has a decent enough record outside of Sunderland). All of whom would be keen There's plenty of scope there tbf, I'm surprised managers are ruling themselves out. New training ground on the ...

Re: New Manager

I expect Parky would take it in a shot. Ainsworth as well

Bruce, Jokanovic maybe not.

Re: New Manager

Looks like Watts still has his contacts; They will eventually get someone, it will be dressed up as an appointment stemming from a well put together process. But it's been anything but. Thought Castro was in the bag, pulled the trigger on Clement, Castro got cold feet. Now scrambling. Hopefully they...

Re: New Manager

If Jokanovic isn't an option, I could come round to the idea of Parky

tbh, thought Bolton were pretty good when they came to the Madejski earlier in the year. Everything that we weren't in terms of fitness and organisation

Record is far from brilliant, but he is basically managing a div 1 team

Re: New Manager

he'd be a huge risk wouldn't he?

He was rated as a coach at Spurs if I remember rightly, and wasn't all bad at Spurs and Villa. Mentally he didn't seem right though for our situation - remember his constant 'what can I do?' type interviews after a defeat

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (a) sponsored by Dick Habbin

prob be safest to have both Bod and Meite on the bench rather than start

Baldock and McNulty looked ok earlier in the season as a pair - not ideal, but prob worth a go. Would go

Anssi
Yiadom Ilori Blackett Gunter
McCleary Rino Bacuna Barrow
McNulty Baldock

Bod
Meite
Keeper
Kelly
Swift
U23 CB
Loader

Re: New Manager

Tbf it would be silly to spend more money without shifting out the deadwood first. For many reasons inc FFP

January should be a very busy month in terms of offloading the likes of McShane etc

Suppose a lot is to do with who we bring in

I’d happily wait a month if it meant Jokanovic coming in at the end of it

sounds like both Bod and Meite are 'possibles' for this game. Need one at least to be on the bench at a minimum imo

Re: New Manager

The Chronicle has Parky as favourite now that the Portugese chappy has turned us down, apparently the club have been in contact with him and as he's on a 12 mth rolling contract with Bolton he won't cost too much to get. the bit about the rolling contract is correct- wouldn't be expensive to get hi...

Re: New Manager

It took 2 days after Stan was sacked for us to appoint Clement. It's now been a week with no manager and the rumours are we still don't have a shortlist. Glad that we finally have a competent CEO in charge. Tbf, we’ve note really heard anything concrete other than from Castro who seemed to be first...
