Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Nigel Howe is very supportive of this initiative and it would be a big surprise if it didn’t continue next season. All indications thus far are that it will continue.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Ground FiLOLLOLed up. If the attendance is much more than 18k Ill be shocked. Once again you have spectacuarly missed the point Ian. The people who are going in the South are there because Y24/25/26 are full, probably with Leeds supporters. They therefore have no option to sit in the south, they ar...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

The numbers will increase in the South Stand as with all stands when results/performances improve. There really is no need for any negativity towards the initiative as we all want the same thing, and that is a better atmosphere inside the ground. @DolanStand works with their supporters to improve th...

Re: Financial Fair Play

I'm guessing that if the club went into liquidation or administration the ground would be protected??? STAR saw to it that the Madejski Stadium was registered as a Community Asset and therefore protected, however what that means when the football club relinquishes ownership of it I don't know. All ...

Re: Martinez?

If we stay up then we’ll exercise the option to sign Oliveira and that will swallow the bulk of the budget. Jose has been told to look at 4-5 academy grads to bring through, and Southwood is the likeliest number one next season if he takes his chance in pre-season. AJ is free to leave, Mannone won’t...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

They were great against Rotherham and made for the best atmosphere for a while. Is there anyway to get a ticket in there if you're not a season ticket holder? Any member card holder can purchase a ticket in the South Stand, whilst any STH can also move their seat to the South for a game whenever th...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Club 1871 will not be there next season. Guarantee it. The Football Club are very supportive of the initiative, so don’t be so sure! The club only lose around £250,000 a season for it. Personally I’d like them to move into the many vacant seats in the Dolan Stand (west half); or as has been put to ...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

In what would appear to be a move of desperation Club 1871 are giving away 2 free beers if you sit in the South Stand for the Wigan game. The final roll of the dice. No final role of any dice. The only reason numbers haven’t been great is because the fans have dropped off due to another relegation ...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

It would sell more if they actually used it for a game. As it stands it’s only to be used for a training session.

We are long overdue an all red away kit too!

Latest via @ReadingOnThames is it’s ‘expected’ to be delivered by Winter 2019. (back end of the year, not the end of the current winter).

Probably more about washing up than safety No, they are the re-useable perspex type and they only switch to them a couple of hours before kickoff on a football day. Clearly they think wine drinkers don't have a tendency towards violence whereas beer drinkers do! They clearly haven’t met my other ha...

1000 sold now. Expect us to take up the 1900 allocation next week if we beat Rotherham.

Re: Ipswich (A)

Easier to drive. Bought our tickets yesterday. You get the choice of front rows in the upper tier, or back rows of the upper tier.

We opted for the back rows!

900 sold so far. Expecting more if we beat Rotherham. Think the usual allocation is 1900.

Re: Rumour - Pedro Neves

Everton snapped him up from Charlton at age 15. Was very highly rated. In recent years Everton haven’t provided the path way for youngsters to come up through the Academy. This could be a real coup for Reading.

Pups aren’t close enough to the stadium, granted. But there are pubs within 10 minutes walk and 20 minutes walk. Holiday Inn (Callaghan’s?) - 10 mins walk World Turned Upside Down - 20 mins Trooper Potts - 23 mins walk Also the set up outside the East Stand is superb and gets rave reviews from away ...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

WAZZOCK The deal with Macron was signed several months ago, not last month.

Talks began in June. Gourlay was also discussing a stadium sponsorship deal with them but I’ve heard nothing for that coming to fruition. The Macron deal was completed formally last month.

Re: New Training Ground

Is anything even happening with REP? Precisely ! Which may be a good thing if RFC have been paid for the land up front. I also wonder whether Nigel Howe is still fronting the REP project now he is actively involved at RFC. my guess is that the new owners aren't that interested in REP. Reckon it wil...
