Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Part of the problem we now have is that the East Stand is very quiet. So we have transferred some of the noise from the East Stand to the South Stand. Not sure it’s really improving the atmosphere as a result. I did think it helped at the back end of last season though so I would not say the experi...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Anyone anti what C1871 is trying to achieve need to have a word with themselves as everyone wants a better atmosphere at the stadium. Fair play for them giving it a go and lets see if it helps. Having been a STH for years I can honestly say the best atmospheres in the stadium have been when the awa...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

There's a few points to make here. Firstly, you guys need to understand that regardless of your views you don't get a say in when the South Stand experiment ends. The people in it and the club are the only ones that do. That's the biggest issue. Why should this select group of frauds be favoured as...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

The team shouldn't need to be winning to be well supported. I go to games for the whole day out aspect; beers, social, the game comes as part of that. What about teams like Plymouth and Portsmouth? They take good numbers everywhere (much better than us) and are utter dross and in dross leagues. Thi...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

You wouldn’t think. First team squad with 5 strikers would look overloaded though. Surely Bod, Baldock, McNulty, Novacovic and Loader would be a pretty deCent group of forwards with. Bond of youth and experience and different styles, We've spent half our games playing one upfront. Plus how often ca...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Yep but I really do get the feeling we will never see him in a Reading shirt again. I fear you're right. Although there's a not tiny chance we could get relegated and lose one or both of Baldock and Bod. Nova might also prove too good for us at that point. You wouldn’t think. First team squad with ...

Medford-Smith? He's not impressed me from the little I've seen.

Re: Danny Loader

I know Smith did ok last season, but I really think Loader should have got his chances. I hope he gets some cup minutes, but it's hard to justify selecting ahead of McNulty and Meite and impossible to select him ahead of Bod or Baldock right now. A loan would be perfect.

Re: Ex players goals

What might have been XI spin off? Carrico and Fernandez for sure... Harriott, maybe Antonio, - Bond? Quinn obviously. oxf*rd Vydra. Isn't the biggest "what might have been" Cahill? I know you're listing players we had but we were pretty close to having him right? Yeah, I wasn't including ...

Cracking start for him at the higher level. Yep but I really do get the feeling we will never see him in a Reading shirt again. I fear you're right. what was in O'shea's mouth , looked like a slice of bread???????? :? Tissue from the wack to his nose when he got a yellow I particularly enjoyed 'He's got tissue up his nose' and 'The Championship is upside down' in the South Stand. I refuse to let myself start hoping until we string a few more re...

Re: Clement

Who is going to want the job (other than for the money) ? Squad size is irrelevant. I feel sorry for Clement. As there's no structure or cohesion to this squad at all. A real bunch of misfits. Indeed, and his keystone signing has proved to be just as much of a charlatan as Aluko. Remember when we b...

Re: BFTG , Hull.

Watching Ilori yesterday you could see why Liverpool got him as a youngster-with them it was thought that he tended to overplay and lacked a bit of bite but I hope that Clement now realises that he is one of our better players and (unlike his view a few weeks ago) a far better player than McShane. ...

Re: BFTG , Hull.

Good stuff from my POV. Played with an intensity that’s been missing thus far. Very happy to see Sims start at last and the shah looks like he has something about him. Throw in the experienced head of O’Shea not really putting a foot wrong* and it’s all good. Not sure why people are using Hull bein...

Re: My first rumour report. Things not well at Reading.

All is far from well? No shit, we've won 2 games in 9 and have spent most of the last 5 years at the wrong end of the table. I think people are referring to off-field, board, back-room issues, Ian. On the pitch everyone knows we are going to win the play offs Yes, obviously. You don't end up in our...
