Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

At what point does Barrett get another shot in the team? He seems to play left side of a front three, which puts him in competition with Barrow and Beerens, as well as a fit Harriott and maybe Swift and Clement... so no time soon I expect. I'd argue our left hand attack is one of the more functiona...

Re: Delé

Would it be good to have a player who was despised by the rest of football, but was very good, playing for England? We could become like Germany and be more likely to win things. I think what you're more likely to see is some canny Italian, or whatever, wind him up and watch him get himself sent of...

I thought he seemed to move more central in the second half for the academy and was less dangerous, so I'm not sure. Maybe.

Re: Delé

I really struggle to like him purely due to the obnoxiously arrogant sneer he always has on his face wrttop, hopefully he will crack on and sustain this (needs to stay at Spurs for a bit) and not join the legions of young ex-hopefuls Yeah, he looks very talented, but a total arsehat when I've seen ...

I've just checked. Grabban scored more than Samuel.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Popa had some great moments, but looked to be determined to score himself once the third went in. I'd have liked to see him continue to play more for the team and maybe pick up another couple of assists. He's definitely hungry for the first team. I like him, quick, good feet and stocky with a low ce...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Anyone know what the side is? I know we started out playing Popa, House and Barrett as a front three, but I think House went off and there was another sub at HT. Our No. 3's looked decent Legg,Holmes,Osho,Andresson,Medford-Smith,East,Sheppard,Holsgrove,House,Popa, Barrett House replaced by Frost Sh...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Their no. 9 is trying to dive his way to a red card. Meanwhile, Reading re-take the lead with more good work from Popa and a tasty finish from Barrett - who looks a bit of a unit these days.

Re: Sheffield Utd - Back from the game

WTAF were Gunter and Aluko doing for Sharp's goal. Gunter, I can understand, he's going to feel he needs to tuck in behind the CBs and protect the six hard box, but he gets no where near cutting out the ball and he should be calling Aluko to pick up his man. Instead Aluko watches Sharp standing in a...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

It would be interesting to see Sean Dyche go to Everton to see if he can replicate all his good work with Burnley on a bigger stage with the supposedly better players and higher expectations that go with it. Judging from the little I've read about Everton, I hope he doesn't because it looks like a ...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Comments going mental after Villa have two penalties turned down and we get one. First was never, second didn't see it, ours probably given most times.

Barrett's effort saved.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Quite enjoying all the clueless teeny Villa fans in the comments claiming they had a certain penalty denied by a useless ref. Blatant dive under minimal contact. Rightly a booking.

Also, Jack Grealish is a cocky little shit with too high an opinion of himself.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Lovely move for ours... although it's a completely different standard to the first team obviously. Barrett wasn't it?

Defending for theirs looked atrocious.

2-1 now, House from a Popa assist.

Re: In or Out?

Interesting comment I picked up on GR. could so easily be talking about us. Interesting reading the predominant reason given today for Koeman's departure from Everton. He managed to sign several players for the same position but not a striker that was badly needed. Is it a failing for ex defenders?...

Well, in theory I'm going so don't bother predicting a win. I don't think I've seen a home league win live since 26 February 2016.

1-2
Aluko - the twat's got to score eventually.

Re: Sheffield Utd - Back from the game

Nah. Striker like certain other roles are specialist positions. The runs you need to make, where you need to be to receive the ball, being able to react to half chances all different to being a midfielder. Playing a small winger who isn't even quick is ridiculous. Ridiculous. You need to play a spe...
