Re: In or Out?

I've not followed this thread, but I'd just like to say that anyone seriously questioning Stam's position, just 11 league games after a playoff final (in a season when mid-table safety would have been a success) is absolutely fcuking nuts. Mid-table safety has to be a failure given our spending and...

Re: Dutch possession based football R.I.P.

To an extent i think the talk about systems and such like is a little overblown anyway Its just a case of playing well sometimes. We've seen success over the last couple of years playing all sorts of styles - Leicester with their counter attack, Chelsea with their 3-4-3, Us and Hudders last year wi...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

It's a bit try hard and over done, but I chuckled. Plus who gives a oxf*rd about pissing off Leeds fans. If it was a decent club maybe.

Re: Leeds v RFC Back from the Tele

yeah. Surely the ideal is Barrow and Aluko right up on the full backs and Dadi in a classic no 9. You can always use McCleary and Beerens when required to give us more disciplined shape in a 4-4-2 type set up when required With Swift sat behind Dadi we would be unstoppable  Exciting attackin...

Re: Team for Sheff U (A)

He started the season well, but tailed off pretty quickly Problem is we can’t afford to pick him and play himself back into form Still sounding no different to anyone else to me. thats fair enough, but being as just come back off an impressive win, think you stick with what has just worked Yeah hap...

Re: Dutch possession based football R.I.P.

There has certainly seemed to be a focus on playing the right way because its the right way, over playing it for the specific purpose of scoring goals and winning games.

Re: Leeds v RFC Back from the Tele

That was never a penalty. Ref only gave that to cancel out argument arising from our goal. Weak officiating. Great win. Hopefully start of something. What was the argument around our goal? They believed there was a foul in the build up. Bloody diddums I say Bacuna(?) was in a tussle with Hernandez ...

Team for Sheff U (A)

So, better performance and result but with people out of position and injuries still. What to do for Sheff U? Stick? Twist? Tinker? Bacuna was great at RB. Gunter much improved at LB. But it's a bit patchwork and I'm not sure you can rely on them to replicate that out of normal position. For me chan...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leeds United (a) sponsored by a deep dark realisation that this way creeps

Brilliant result! Great to see Stam giving a little to allow us to be direct. He clearly is the man to take us forward! Delighted for Mo, impressed everytime I’ve seen him this year. Obviously Lolololeeds..... If he is 'clearly' the man for the job, you think he might have changed tactics sooner - ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leeds United (a) sponsored by a deep dark realisation that this way creeps

I thought it really helped that Gunter was pushed to the left, where he was much more positive. The change seemed to break many of his worst habits and Bacuna was excellent at RB, much more positive than Gunter has been all season. JVDB having an excellent, virtually error free game also helped. As ...

I have no complaints for a change. WD the lads.....nice to see us play to the teams strengths and non of this bullsh+t tippy tappy back passing. He needs to now keep and improve on this system now and abandon that sh+t boring crap we have been dishing out. This team is a good team and masively unde...

RichTea94 wrote:What formation/s were we playing? Heard some on here rejoicing at a 4-4-2 but I couldn't tell.

4-4-1-1 was more like it. Aluko tended to play deeper than a striker would. It was quite fluid where necessary.

Re: Leeds v RFC Back from the Tele

Mannone - 7 not much to do apart from the pen, but he saved that well too and no real errors. Bacuna - 8 really good out of position Gunter - 7 best game in ages despite the odd poor ball forward Moore - 7 looked a touch unlucky to give away the pen, one of those got in the way and got fallen over o...

Really good performance. Much more threatening in attack. Bodvarsson really showed what we'd missed upfront.
