Re: Rumour - Pedro Neves

Seems very highly rated, which asks the question of why Everton never gave him a professional deal. Either way, worth a punt. Does terribly we won’t lose any sleep, does well we have a good player in our hands to sell or use.

Re: Have Reading ever had a player like a "Pogba B"

In terms of how influential I’d argue John Swift, when he has a good game he’s unstoppable at this level. Just wish he wasn’t so frustratingly inconsistent, because he’s a hell of a player.

Re: CONFIMRED - Nelson Oliveira

Still can’t believe people thought we didn’t need him, he’s heads and shoulders above this team.

Re: BFTG Wednesday (A)

definitely not too late If we are correct in thinking Ipswich and Bolton are likely down (obvs a big assumption but nothing to suggest otherwise), then its a straight shoot out between us and Rotherham, No real excuse to lose that one looking at the comparative squads etc Lets hope not, I can see s...

Re: BFTG Wednesday (A)

Can only be a matter of time until we turn those draws into wins. Ipswich look down and out, Bolton very close to joining them then there’s us and Rotherham, with Millwall and Wigan losing their ground on us as we speak. Think it might be too little too late now though, not showing any signs of imp...

Re: Gomes: Early Form Check In

You are comparing apples and oranges. Let’s look at our first 7 league games- 5 points Gomes- 6 points Clement vs sides played in comparison with Gomes: 4 points Gomes: 6 points Gomes played 6 of those games vs a top half side at the time with a team low on confidence who hadn’t won in 6 games and ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Aston Villa (h) sponsored by not long to desperation

What gets me is that the form is basically the same under both managers Clement 20 games, 4 wins and 6 draws 18 pts/20 games (0.90 ppg) Gomes 7 games 1 win and 3 draws 6 pts / 7 games (0.86 ppg) Smaller numbers with Gomes, sure, but nothing saying we're any better or more robust. Marginally harder ...

Re: The Local Journo Thread

Jonathan Low covered deadline day much better than any other reporter, he’s not been the greatest journo over the past 2 years but credits where it’s due

Re: The Local Journo Thread

Anthony is a questionable journo but in this case I’ll come to his defence. If I thought I saw something like that and have no idea who it is, and if it’s no one after he reports this then he gets taken the piss out of. He decides it’s not really enough to say anything and as Miazga is a relatively ...

Re: The Next 8 games - Make or Break Time

Looking at the fixture list and it seems pretty clear to me that the next 8 games will define if we are likely to stay up or go down. Starting with the Bolton game on the 29th our fixtures are as follows: Bolton (a) 22nd place Villa (H) 12th Weds (a) 16th Blackburn (H) 10th Sheff Utd (a) 3rd Rother...

Re: New Keeper

I know any signing has their doubts but these ones we’ve made this month in particular have massive points to prove and all 4 of their careers seem to look like it’ll depend on how they do here. Genuinely see no inbetween with our signings, either they will do really well and earn themselves big mov...

Re: RUMOUR - Nelson Oliveira

Not nearly as idiotic as your user name will be if Ilori leaves next week. Seriously I am not sure what part of what I said is "idiotic". It is generally agreed that midfield has been the cause of our problems most of this season and I referred to the fact that things were getting better ...

Re: RUMOUR - Nelson Oliveira

This would be a pointless signing IMO. Bearing in mind we only have 18 games left and we play one up front and we have Bod and Meite (if he recovers) who have both done ok when fit I think it would send the wrong message to our contracted players. It would effectively say that the new manager felt ...

Re: RUMOUR - Nelson Oliveira

genome Smudger says a deal isn't imminent, so put your house on it being announced before 5pm.

I love how our journalists only report about how it’s “not imminent” with any strong rumour that comes our way, no shit sherlock

Re: Worst Reading XI

Obviously Reading Football club didn't exist before 05/06, so that's when I'm going to start the question from, but to be honest this shocking XI will take some beating! Even going back maybe to the Bullivant/ Burns era. Courtesy of Brain Traysers in the BBC Radio Berkshire section he named this be...
