Re: Relegation Watch

I don’t think it’s that unlikely for Bolton, Brum and Bsrnsley to reach 44 points. For Bolton that would be a win, a defeat and a loss. For Brum a win, a draw and two defeats. For Barnsley two wins and two defeats. So none of them will have to be in great form. If JR suggests our players can now af...

Re: BFTG Sunderland

Christ almighty what planet are you on ? It’s not likely but it’s still possible. Whilst it’s possible don’t be dismissive. We are 40/1 to go down with the bookies - they are not stupid. If we were talking about one team needing to win 2 out of 3 to catch us then fine to panic mildly - but not 3 te...

Re: BFTG Sunderland

I absolutely bloody loved that last 10-15 minutes - brilliant entertainment! Breathless end to end stuff - that’s the most I’ve felt a Reading game in a long time. Gunter, the legend, put in a wonderful cross on his wrong foot to set up the equaliser. Barrow, our deserved player of the season, then...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by the curse of Saturday

In the non away half of the South Stand there is a small group of maybe 40 Reading fans who are standing up and singing throughout the first half. Is this our standing area experiment? Or is it a special Armed Forces thing (their flag has an RAF logo I think)? Armed forces....or Mods day out.....St...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by the curse of Saturday

Well you've chosen a player most people see the obvious faults with (surprisingly poor at defending, particularly marking, A weak voice for a captain with no obvious on pitch leadership skills) and stated he's your favorite. Hes like spam. Something most people see the obvious faults with but those...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by the curse of Saturday

CoughGuntercough. CoughAlukocough. Kelly, Bod, Ilori and Bacuna have also had their fair share of lambasting at various points. I thought about qualifying my initial post.... Gunter is just about my favourite player - he’s a regular 7 out of 10 and if he needs to be the scapegoat to take the heat o...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by the curse of Saturday

I would like to wager that no team selection has been greeted with such head nodding admiration as today’s for quite a long time at the Mad Stad. A very well balanced side for a home game with none of the scapegoats hob nobbers like to lambast selected! CoughGuntercough. CoughAlukocough. Kelly, Bod...

Re: Relegation Watch

I have Reading on 43 with Barnsley on 39. It’s obviously going to be very close even though Clement appeared to have caused a slight improvement in our defending. In fact I think the defence is looking slightly more robust; shame about the midfield which to a man are all underperforming badly and n...

Re: Leaving Games Early...?

I left the Wolves game early back in the Elm Park days when we were losing 1-0 going in to injury time......I was walking down Parkside Road when the equaliser went in and on Westcote Road by the time the winner hit the net. I was gutted and blamed my dad for making me leave early....... https://m....

Re: CONFIMRED - Paul Clement appointed as new Royals boss

I think this is an absolutely superb appointment.

Clement has got massive potential and it just feels right to have him at Reading - a perfect match.

You certainly can’t knock someone with experience at PSG, Bayern, Chelsea and Real!!

Obviously not available, but I would have Neil Warnock at the drop of a hat - in my view the best Championship manager all round and I love his soundbites.

Why would any manager walk away?

Always wait to be sacked and take the pay-off.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wolverhampton Wanderers (a) sponsored by Sammy Chung

This has to be it surely. Stam has to go. It gives a new manager or caretaker till the end of the season a bit of time but it could be a shot in the arm. Frankly it's embarrassing. Burton 2 down. They are fighting though not being good enough. This side ARE good enough. But under this plank they ar...

Re: Reading FC ltd company announcement

Looks like the club made a profit last year? Yes, looks like there was a huge increase in matchday revenue - I'm guessing that will drop quite a bit this year! And a big increase in commercial revenue (sponsorship and the like). If this is Ron Gourlay's doing, then I can see why they brought him in...
