Re: Favourite rumour?

Van der Vaart was a good one that never came through, and knowing we almost had Joleon Lescott was always quite an exciting thought (who I imagine history could be quite kind to given Citeh's recent record with centre halves). Also Maurice Evans once said that Robin Friday cold come back if he mende...

Re: More possible FIFA fiddling to ruin the game

passing to yourself at a free-kick, corner and goal-kick - makes sense, quick restart to a game, could benefit the attacking team a stadium clock which stops and starts along with the referee's watch - no problem here, everyone knows how long to go. allowing the goal-kick to be taken even if the ba...

Re: More possible FIFA fiddling to ruin the game

Actually all seem pretty reasonable to me. Quite like the idea of the halves being 30mins and stopping the clock. Would probably end up having more playing time than we do now. The last five minutes of the game are the most exciting thing in the world and this is partially because you never know wh...

tidus_mi2 A youth player some may remember, Jonny Hayes signed for Celtic today.

It's always sad to see them tumble through the leagues looking for a club.

Always seemed slightly out of his depth, and I have always been surprised he has maintained his career - a bit like Shane Long - so I would say no.

Re: The generic transfer thread

Man United spend 35 mill on somebody I've never heard of which Shirley means the end for Jones and smalling Possibly. However, they should hang around for the two months it takes for it to become obvious that the 35-million player centre-half isn't as good as the players Man U already had at the cl...

Re: The 2017/18 season preview/expectation and build up thread

There is much to look forward to next season. Sure, there are lots of powerful teams with great reasons to expect success, but I can't see another Newcastle, ie anybody who is bound to get promoted, so the two automatic places are accessible for us this year. For all teams, a lot will depend on mana...

Re: Do you have another team?

Not anymore but I supported Spurs when I was little, so I am allowed to feel pleased when they win games.

However, as an 80s child, the joy of Liverpool losing games is probably greater, as is that Schadenfreude feeling you get when English teams get knocked out of the Champions League.

Re: The generic transfer thread

How much has Pep spent at City since he started? Astronomical amounts.... And look how their season went. The man should have been given his P45 months ago. Absolute fraud This is interesting....... http://e2.365dm.com/15/05/16-9/20/chelsea-net-spend-mnf-premier-league_3299230.jpg?20150504202147 Di...

Re: Thank you Danny Williams

Will be interested* to see what Huddersfield do in the transfer window. I think he is only allowed 1 loanee from a fellow Premier League club, so they're going to need to decide on which of Mooy, Palmer, Brown and Ward they want to renew, and which if any they would go for permanently. Going for al...

Re: Thank you Danny Williams

He's great and we will miss him sorely. He is usually one of the players of the season.

I think he'll miss us as well, because he won't move to a club that needs to play him as often as we did and maintain his enormous wages.

Re: Who do you want to miss out on the play offs?

My heart says Leeds:
I want a nice day out if we get to Wembley. We might be able to have that sharing public transport and pubs with Sheff Wed or Huddersfield fans. It wouldn't be the same if it was Leeds fans.

My head says Fulham
I do not want to have to play them again this year.

Handsome Man The big controversy was of course that Dele Alli can't be player of the season - madness.

according to some presenter on Talksport (least reliable source known to man) a PL player told him that it's because other footballers don't like Alli, as he acts like a right pcunt on the pitch.

Jealousy.

Re: PFA Teams Of The Year

Nothing too controversial in the Premiership one, unless you are a fan of one of the big teams and want to claim that your players are better. If that is Man City, you might be surprised that de Bruyne isn't picked ahead of Mane, perhaps; if you are an Arsenal fan, maybe it should have been Sanchez....

Re: Top 7 predictions

Chelsea
Man City
Arsenal
Spurs
Man Utd
Liverpool
Everton

Chelsea are the best team, Man City have the best players, Arsenal always finish above Spurs and Spurs should still get into the Champions League. I am a big fan of Mourinho and of Klopp, but their players aren't very good.
