Re: Club developed players

Kick in the teeth to english players - only 1 per match day squad requirement. Would be better to have a minutes played quota to actually get them out on the pitch. Punishments for not filling the quota - being told to start a home grown player or a small points reduction. A bit extreme but it would...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Yes, there was light-hearted dig at Portsmouth and Plymouth, Lighten up - It's the interenet. Yes I do currently live in Reading and I'm not saying it's better than those two places or that I don't jump at any excuse to leave Reading for the day. Most towns are shit holes. Actually, you'll find Por...

My thoughts too. I'm sure most of the BFTG blackburn comments are about McShane.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

The team shouldn't need to be winning to be well supported. I go to games for the whole day out aspect; beers, social, the game comes as part of that. What about teams like Plymouth and Portsmouth? They take good numbers everywhere (much better than us) and are utter dross and in dross leagues. Hav...

Yep but I really do get the feeling we will never see him in a Reading shirt again.

With signing 2 strikers this summer, Bod playing and scoring and 2 more coming through the ranks in the academy but its not the worst scenario to be in TBH.

Re: BFTG , Hull.

Watched on iFollow. Was very confused by the team selection and braced myself for another abject performance. I liked the intensity and effort. The willing to run and track runs. We actually competed for 2nd balls. Bod did look isolated up top just before the red as Baldock dropped deeper - but we w...

Re: BFTG - Norwich

Just checking and Bod has now scored 4 goals in just 389 minutes on the pitch. Two of his sub appearances were as LW 3/4 of his goals have been when he's started so we can't say it's "subs find goals easier" Overall in 2017-18 he has made 43 appearances (almost a full season's worth) but ...

Love a good poll. As i change my mind every day on who is to blame.
Nani has gotten an easy ride so far.

Think you're on your own with this. No he's not. What does Kelly bring to team? Kelly and his attitude are a huge part of what is wrong at this club. Lazy, idle and complacent little dweeb. Rejecting an Ireland call up via text message - quite possibly the most disrespectful and oxf*rd thing to do.

Re: BFTG - Norwich

I am still struggling to find a reason why we still cant compete in midfield and why it is still a problem. There is absolutely no excuse that our shambles has gone on for so long. Gunter and Aluko if they HAVE to play (which i hope they dont for a while) should not be on the same side. Clement need...

Re: BFTG - Norwich

My opinion on Gunter (I'm sure you're all desperate to hear it) , is that he's a safety-first player, currently lacking confidence not only in himself but also in the rest of the team. The reason he passes backwards or sideways so much is that he either can't see a safe route for the ball forwards ...

Re: BFTG - Norwich

This must be the longest corner ever that we are turning. I am getting fed up with this saying.
Last night was a massive wake up on how limited and poor we are as a team. Individually on paper we a decent but that counts for nothing.

Re: Rival Watch

Money probably.. Villa stretching the FFP to the limit again no doubt. They had that Terry wage to spend. Arguably Bolasie is more worth it than scumbag Terry. That Terry wage almost screwed them over + u add in a Tammy Abraham and a Tuanzebe. Hoping they will learn a lesson soon with the spending ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Norwich City (h) sponsored by Andy Hughes

That's OK. Our Wall of Iron on the right side (Aluko and Gunter) will repel him. I do suspect we will see Yiadom and Sims on right to counter the known threat of of Lewis, if PC has done his homework, and swap Gunter on left I don't think Sims has shown yet that he's a capable defender. 2 yellow ca...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Norwich City (h) sponsored by Andy Hughes

Injury update from Norwich: Hernandez (hernia) out for a couple of weeks, Stiepermann (hip) a doubt for Reading, Marshall (ill) misses tomorrow, with McLean, Thompson and Hanley already known absentees. Centre half Hanley a big miss for Norwich, Hernandez also, has been very good early season. Deli...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Norwich City (h) sponsored by Andy Hughes

Gunter will stay in I expect. All I want from him is 6/10 performances until Obita is back, shouldn't really be too much to ask Aluko will prob stay in unfortunately, though Sims' case is getting louder by the week. Its a tough one, didnt especially like the team we put out, but obvs you don't mass...

Re: The Demise of Reading FC (Thread 5,000,001)

Realistically, i can see the Champions League and Europa League being scrapped to make way for a 20 team Elite Europe league with a second tier of 12 teams fed from the best of the rest of the leagues. The Premier league will be a made up from steady teams like Palace and Everton. All star players w...
