Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Wins like the one Wolves enjoyed today tend to go your way when you're towards the top of the table. It's almost like you're so used to the habit of winning and being in game that it's just second nature. In all the seasons where we've done well or got promoted we have benefitted from wins where we ...

Re: BFTG - Wolves

Whilst poor finishing contributed a small amount to that loss, I would say some good goalkeeping and some rotten luck was more telling.

Re: Royston Drenthe

Just not sure how a professional footballer has the time to have 5 children, especially one with such a well travelled career. Unless he has a cavalier attitude to contraception No, he sounds like a normal guy, I just think you may have been strangely indoctrinated. Time to have 5 children by 30 wh...

Re: The "reward youth" debate

Meite has all the raw attributes to be a superb player, I just think his footballing brain is holding him back currently. I see similarities with him and Kebe 08-10, but with a bit of guidance I could see him become a tidy player - hopefully that will be with us.

Re: The idiots of Twitter thread

LordCKS is a strange being.

I remember after the Norwich game he was so vocal of his hate for Stam, yet a week later he was asking him to have his babies after the Villa game.

It's most odd, maybe it's a cry for help?

Re: The "reward youth" debate

...and not forgetting Fosu had 2 years of underwhelming loan spells in League 2 under his belt. Maybe, just maybe playing in League 1 with more realistic expectations is what he needs to take his career forward. It's no different to Swift taking a step down to play for us. Just because he's doing w...

Re: The "reward youth" debate

The fact that he is injured is probably an indicator as to why Stam was cautious about bringing Smith in. The size and mentality of some of the centre backs we've seen this season would suggest that a lone striker needs to be made of stern stuff.

Re: BFTG - Nottingham Forest

As soon as I saw the starting line-up I knew we'd win that one. A really good balance to the team, and if you swap Smith for Yann then it's probably our best 11 on paper.

Well done Jaap and the Team.

Re: Brian Tevreden

Whilst I agree Tevreden has a lot to answer for, you have to include Gourlay in the blame for having such a poor window. This bloke comes from a background of working with decent clubs, yet couldn't negotiate deals for a team in the second tier. Questions need to be answered there, particularly the ...

Re: Mad Stad atmosphere rated 2nd worst in league

As the tilehurst end wrote about a few weeks back, it comes off the back of the club trying everything they can to make it as family orientated as usual and they have alienated a big group of our support This is quite lazy conclusion to come to in my opinion. Whilst the club put on a wide variety o...

Re: Sheffield Utd - Back from the game

I think Stam is getting a bit of unfair criticism regarding the transfer activity over the summer, and it is in fact Gourlay and Tevreden who should be on the receiving end of it. No doubt it was identified we needed one or two further additions up top, but at the end of the day Jaap isn't the man ...

Re: Sheffield Utd - Back from the game

So why have him on the bench then? Matchday squad experience. The chance to give him a run out if we're winning (lol) with a few minutes to go. It's not like places on the bench are at a premium with 7 slots. Would you have been happy if Stam named only 6 subs because he didn't intend to plau him a...

Re: Sheffield Utd - Back from the game

That's fine as manager he makes the decisions. So why was he on the bench? And why did we start the season with only ONE fit striker that he thought was "near the standard required to fit the role" And one that he bought and then doesn't even play? Pertinent questions. He was on the bench...

Re: Sheffield Utd - Back from the game

Nah. Striker like certain other roles are specialist positions. The runs you need to make, where you need to be to receive the ball, being able to react to half chances all different to being a midfielder. Playing a small winger who isn't even quick is ridiculous. Ridiculous. You need to play a spe...

His dutch mate Koeman looks like he won't survive. Just shows, you can have what looks like a great team on paper but put a dutch system in place, the opposition puts a high press in and your f#cked and ineffective. He will change nothing next week and it will be the same old sh+t. De Boer and the ...

Re: Sheffield Utd - Back from the game

Why the hell didn't he play Smith? Because he thinks Smith is less good than Beerens, Aluko or Barrow being the obvious answer. Clamour for Smith is very much a case of putting faith in someone purely because they're someone different who's not really been seen. Any striker, no matter their experie...
