Re: The generic transfer thread

Ouch. Bristol City left-back Joe Bryan had agreed terms and passed a medical with Villa, only to have his head turned by a later offer from Fulham, who he will join later today. Probably means Fulham have given up on making Targett's loan deal from Southampton permanent. Or is Sessignon on the move?

Re: The generic transfer thread

In fairness West Ham was a pretty poisonous place to be last season. Arnautovich towards the end of the season aside, hardly anyone came out of the season with their reputation even remotely enhanced.

Re: Club up for sale again?

Assuming it's the current owners to whom this interest is owed then aren't they actually going to have to transfer a big chunk of those loans into shareholding or some form of investment in order to comply with FFP?

Re: The generic transfer thread

Hope Nick Pope can get himself a move away in January when he is fit. Would be awful for him to be stuck behind this waster. A 'waster'? Hart has lost form completely, but was a very able performer for England and City for years. Luckily I don't think Dyche is the sort to bollock around and unless ...

Re: Club up for sale again?

Madejski spent the best part of a decade (probably longer) trying to sell it.

There's only a certain amount of time as an owner before you realise that unless you can secure Premier League football, you're just pissing money down the drain.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h) sponsored by a new hope

Yes, of course I’m looking forward to it. It’s football. It’s my team playing football. At the Madejski. See old friends, have a pint, have a laugh, hope to see the ’Ding put a few goals past the Rams. Enjoy winning. Enjoy moaning if we don’t perform. Play Devil’s advocate and try to find something...

Re: R16: Colombia v England

Obvs gr8 scenes with Dier's pen, but few thoughts.............. Current XI set-up is too one dimensional. What has happened to Sterling ? He soooo much better than that. Maguire is the new Terry Butcher. We looked better when Rose came on. Why didn't Vardy take a pen ? I'm not sure it is really. Al...

literally no issue with resting the 1st team players/getting the others a bit of game time in a nothing match, personally. and I think the mouth frothing nonsense reaction has gone way to far. I think it was exactly the right decision france rested half their team, including mbappe for their 3rd ga...

Re: World Cup Punditry

Been watching coverage in the states for the last two weeks. Ian Wright is an even bigger plonker in the US than he is over here. Alexei Lalas is a very strange individual. Clarence Seedorf looks like he just rolled into the studio seconds before the broadcast not even aware which two teams are play...

Re: CONFIMRED: Sone Aluko

From a guess based on figures in the accounts, I reckon we paid as much as 5m for him up front I imagine a lot of the other add ons were promotion based, so not a problem there :) I'm not sure his transfer would figure in any published accounts yet would it. I might be wrong but pretty sure the las...

Re: World Cup 2018

Not a fan of strikers being captains but the options are fairly limited. Would probably have gone with Henderson due to him doing that job for Liverpool but not that fussed either way. As long as he isn't on free kick duty its all good! Who do we have for free kick duty though? Rashford, Dier, Young?

Re: Building for next season

Not for me, accident waiting to happen. Saw him in a game 2 season ago for West Ham when they lost at home to Watford, comfortably 2-0 up, Collins mistake -> 2-1, West Ham lose the game 2-4. No better than what we have and would rather see a couple of youngsters get some bench time. That's just 1 g...

Re: RUMOUR - Andy Yiadom

IF this deal goes through I feel this could be a big turning point. Last season it took forever to get deals over the line and we often lost out. I am also assured that Clement and co seem to be looking at champ players and not foreign punts. A big statement of intent ( yes I used it) if this happe...

Re: England - the future....

As above, pretty happy with the squad. Are we not heavy on defenders though? You've got Maguire, Stones, Jones and Cahill as centre-backs, and Walker who can play there. Then you have Walker, Trippier and Alexander-Arnold who can play right-back, and Rose, Young and Delph. Surely we could have lost...

Re: England - the future....

There is a dearth of creativity/flair available to England to whether his form dipped a little at the end of a season not taking Wilshire is a big mistake by Southgate in my opinion, especially given Oxlade-Chamberlain's absence. I can only assume he's going to take Lallana and doesn't want the poss...
