Re: On this day

Tranmere 1 Reading 3 - PO SF 1st Leg. In all my years, this was the most perfect away performance I ever witnessed. Tranmere were played off the park and their fans showed their appreciation at the end. A brilliant, brilliant day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwxI5e06HXU JM getting the beers in ...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

I remember the ball boy putting it down and Little not breaking stride from running up to the corner and taking it. Another manager complained (Warnock?) and they stopped it It was that old alcoholic George Burley who complained about how we used the multi-ball system. Our ball boys and girls were ...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

I don't particularly like criticising players for their attitude when you don't know anything about them behind the scenes, but really did feel Popa was just here for the holiday and pay There's probably a decent player in there somewhere, but 3 managers shipped him out pretty quickly To counter th...

Re: Speculation - Players From The Relegated Trio

Well we know at least Wigan wanted Blackett. Dont know what everyone's issue with Richards is. I don't have an issue with Richards. At this moment in time, he's not a championship level LB, in his last three starts as a LB, we've conceded four twice and he should have been sent off the other time s...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

I think it was Harriott who delivered the corner for the winner against Wigan.

He's not likely to be around next season but that's as good as anything I've seen for the vast majority of the season. Left foot, Inswinging, no frills just on the money and in the danger area.

Re: Next Season.

id like to know the ins and out before writing him off. was he loaned as cover, and being overlooked now in favour of a Wimbledon player they would prefer to give time to etc fair enough. He hasn't played for us for 2.5 years now though, with the injury and loan. Having seen Howe a couple of times,...

Re: Gomes after 10 League Games

I thought Joorabchian was only involved in the appointment of Gomes as his agency deals almost exclusively with Portugese and Brazilian based clubs and players and if the owners were determined to go Portugese, to be fair, he is an expert on that market. I reckon every loanee was on the radar to so...

Re: BFTG - Bristol City

It does seem the impressive last 20 are maybe not totally reflective of the full game tbf Think it goes back to the point RR made about how we struggled to retain possession. The two occasions we've played this formation we haven't had our best "hold up" player in Oliveira available. He h...

Yup. Thanks to SCIAG , Royals & Racers and others for their regular updates on this and other threads especially since it seems the club can only sporadically be arsed.

Re: RUMOUR - Jonson Clarke-Harris

If money is as tight as we are lead to believe, any decent big from a Dutch side for Novacovich will be taken - his stock is high over there and can easily see one of the bigger Dutch clubs taking him in the summer. Loader will go on loan next year I think and the other 3 are all sellable - so even...

Re: RUMOUR - Jonson Clarke-Harris

Hmmm. We play one upfront. We are looking like signing Oliveira and have Novacovich to come back. Plus Bod, Baldock, McNulty and Loader on the books. If this is an alternative to Oli should we get relegated then fine. But as well as? Don't really see it unless we're sure of shifting two or three of...

Re: 51 Academy players

Rob Dickie also leap-frogged other centre half contenders that pre-season but he decided he wanted to play first team football rather than be a 4th choice centre half/ 3rd choice right back. Not quite what happened. Dickie was actually one of the players who lost out under Stam, who had this weird ...

Re: 51 Academy players

Be interesting to hear how Watson has got on. Seems to be a bit in and out but at least seems to have stayed fit. Think there was an element of thinking Watson had more potential hence not making more of an effort to keep Stacey Glad someone actually mentioned Watson. He was obviously our back up R...

Re: BFTG Leeds Home

One thing I noticed with Leeds compared to us, when our defenders had the ball whoever was man marking Swift came with him wherever he went. Meaning that the space between there press was a lot smaller. When we press with our top 3 + Swift, Baker and East were very fixed and rigid and that meant th...

Re: BFTG Leeds Home

I'm not a fan of playing players out of position but I'd generally rather see a "false 9" or something, even Meite up front and Harriott and McCleary on the wings would suffice, Loader is clearly feeling the pressure and unfortunately, that's come from our fans overhyping him before he'd ...

Re: Bftg- Wigan (h)

1) 5) As did Meite. I f**king love Meite. Give me 11 Meites and I'll love watching the team. . Meite is and was woeful on Saturday, good header at the end aside. He's painfully slow for someone that looks quick, his holdup play is atrocious and he doesn't even win many headers. Can't fault his effo...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (h) sponsored by Nicky Forster

And the Rotherham goal.? Baker nut-megging an opposition player whilst facing our own goal, then Martinez passing from directly under his own goal line with an opposition player breathing down his neck, 3 passes later it's in the back of the opponents net. The probability of that happening would be ...
