Re: Gomes after 10 League Games

Personally thought Kermorgant sounded like a spoiled twat in his interview. Nowhere near as genuine as Moore was. Gomes greatest weapon is the way he speaks. He has a romantic turn of phrase that can easily charm people and means he can get away with some things that others may not. An example is w...

Re: MATCHWATCH : West Bromwich Albion (h) sponsored by Brian Howard

I would really hope we can get close to 20,000 on Monday. The weather forecast is great, we are in good form and West Brom have sold their allocation. It’s also a big game.

Re: BFTG - Bristol City

It does seem the impressive last 20 are maybe not totally reflective of the full game tbf Think it goes back to the point RR made about how we struggled to retain possession. The two occasions we've played this formation we haven't had our best "hold up" player in Oliveira available. He h...

Re: BFTG - Bristol City

Congratulations to Gomes for finding a way not to lose away from home. Our 5 man (then 6 when McIntyre came on) defence and reliance on a quick break or two or a set piece means that we have taken the 2 points from 2 difficult away games to (probably) keep us up. It has been dire stuff to watch but...

Re: Gomes after 10 League Games

It's interesting though that on one hand people are raving about how much difference the loanees have made and on the other hand saying Clement was too shit to have done any better. I rather think that if Clement had got the same loanees (certainly possible) we'd have continued to improve under him...

Re: Gomes after 10 League Games

You want evidence? Well, I'd certainly give some weight to what Liam Moore has to say on the issue: Clement struggling to get his ideas across, Gomes being clearer in his instructions and his ability to ship out the negative influences. Also, Gomes just seems a more positive personality, a much bet...

Re: Gomes after 10 League Games

Under Clement we couldn’t average more than a point per game. After a slow start Gomes has done brilliantly. In our last 17 games we have picked up 25 points. We would not have been in this position had Clement remained in charge. The only slight criticism I can think of is that we are taking the l...

Platypuss 10man Wigan would never win at Leeds.

Exactly. It’s definitely not over.

Re: Rival Watch

Of course if we win on Monday and Rotherham don’t win we are safe 8) You make it sound so easy. This is feeling like a very long season. Have we been higher than 19th at any stage this season? It would be good going into the final game being relaxed in the knowledge we were safe. It’s not good for ...

Re: BFTG - Bristol City

There have been some great backs-to-the-wall performances recently and Gomes has done a brilliant job but there is so much to be done. We are still terrible at keeping possession to me eyes. Everything is slightly ponderous and lacking in confidence still. We receive the ball then look up, shield t...

Swansea were hanging on for dear life at the end.
Whatever happened to games finishing at 4:40pm? Those days are long gone
We definitely need something on Monday as Rotherham have Birmingham at home.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol City (a) sponsored by Scott Murray

Just flicked through the bbc live text reporting. That was also pretty poor. Apparently Brizzle were ‘really pushing for a winner’ at the end and came closest with that crappy dribbling shot which went about 5 metres wide Pathetic reporting. They created next to nothing in the second half. We looke...
