Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Anyone anti what C1871 is trying to achieve need to have a word with themselves as everyone wants a better atmosphere at the stadium. Fair play for them giving it a go and lets see if it helps. Having been a STH for years I can honestly say the best atmospheres in the stadium have been when the awa...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Genuine question - Would there be a better atmosphere in the Mad Stad if there was a full away end (both sides of the South) and all the 1871 Boys back up in Y25/26? And for the record I have nothing but respect for anyone that is trying to improve the stadium atmosphere by creating Club 1871. Yes....

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Club 1871 were horrendous again on Saturday but decided to give it the big I am afterwards on social media claiming credit for the victory more or less. The phrase 'sing when you're winning' has never been so apt when it comes to them. They made decent noise on Saturday. I heard them pretty much th...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

You wouldn’t think. First team squad with 5 strikers would look overloaded though. Surely Bod, Baldock, McNulty, Novacovic and Loader would be a pretty deCent group of forwards with. Bond of youth and experience and different styles, We've spent half our games playing one upfront. Plus how often ca...

Yeah no thanks to this. We should have Obita back after the next international break although it may take him a few weeks to kick on.

Re: Danny Loader

I know Smith did ok last season, but I really think Loader should have got his chances. I hope he gets some cup minutes, but it's hard to justify selecting ahead of McNulty and Meite and impossible to select him ahead of Bod or Baldock right now. A loan would be perfect. McNulty hasn’t really had a...

Re: My first rumour report. Things not well at Reading.

Just to offer a balance I met up with a friend yesterday who works at the club. His take on the behind the scenes situation was rather different. He said Gourlay was brought in because the Chinese believed the club needed an utter revamp. His brief was to sort it out from top to tail. He has upset ...

Re: BFTG , Hull.

Watching Ilori yesterday you could see why Liverpool got him as a youngster-with them it was thought that he tended to overplay and lacked a bit of bite but I hope that Clement now realises that he is one of our better players and (unlike his view a few weeks ago) a far better player than McShane. ...

Re: Danny Loader

Yes he’s been doing very well. I would hate to see us lose him before he had even played for the first team. Going to Chelsea would not be a good move for him imo. Certainly not at this stage in his career. If he's not getting chances here why wouldn't he go? Better facilities, better players to tr...

Re: BFTG , Hull.

I thought Sheffield Wed were decent. Missed the Derby game. Norwich good in the first half but absolutely there for the taking in the second period.Bolton limited and Hull poor. The players showed yesterday that the squad has been under-achieving. Yesterday they proved that. It was by no means perfe...

Summary: - What a relief to get a home win - Yiadom again impressive, Can’t wait to see him in his natural position with Obita at LB - Kelly and Bacuna both turned up, impressed with both - Why didn’t Barrow start, our most dangerous player, something going on there? - Sims 10x the player Aluko is ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Hull City (h) sponsored by a distinct lack of Saturday home wins

I was kind of angling at "Does he improve the team?" and notwithstanding the poor opposition and the other changes to the team also having a positive impact, the general consensus seems to be a tentative yes. Oh I think he will improve the side. He’s taller than I thought. When we play Sw...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Hull City (h) sponsored by a distinct lack of Saturday home wins

How did Ezatolahi play? Started very well but then misplaced several passes. He jumped in on a couple of occasions in the second half which left a big gap in midfield. Won several headers. Overall a mixed bag but that’s not surprising. Promising signs. We looked better with him in the side as we ha...

Re: BFTG , Hull.

Very pleased with that. Only thing to add that might be controversial is that while O'Shea was immense in the air, Hull really played into his hands - the two times they ran at him he went in the book. Think he'd be a big liability against a better team. But we have to work with the players we have...

Re: BFTG , Hull.

Hull - not even a football team. Walker - one good save at least, clean sheet - 7 Ilori - absolutely fine - 7 Yiadom - defended well, got forward well, scored - 8 Moore - solid - 7 O'Shea - not as slow as I expected, composed and aware, cynical when needed (and when not Mr Red card) - 7 Ezatolahi -...
