Re: RUMOUR - Gomes wanted

Greatwesternline Chris Hughton who gets teams promoted is available. How can he not be the favourite for any championship vacancy?

Yep. He will get snapped up soon enough.

Things I have learnt from the software development trenches (1) Clients are idiots (2) Project managers are idiots (3) Migration is always shit, (4) It's never obvious how badly shit the migration is until it's too late (5) Clients and project managers think migration should be straightforward. See...

Re: RUMOUR - Gomes wanted

It would be a sideways move for him so would be very surprised if he went for it. Not struggling to stay inside FFP rules 2 more years of parachute money, yes a huge sideways step. remains to be seen how much a loves the club as much as he`s been saying. Potter loved Swansea and jumped at the first...

Re: Rival Watch

ha indeed. Urgently need something else to talk about Be interesting to see how both he and Swansea get on anyway. As mentioned, I do think he is a good manager and has obviously done well. But at the same time, not sure its quite as well as some inc yourself obvs do. Which is fair enough. You’re l...

Re: Rumour - Danny Loader

I can get my head round the fact its an awful idea we need cash now, not in 3 years time when he has made 50 appearances 2 million barely scratches the surface of what we need now, and he probably isn't on a great wage, so no real saving there Some bloke from Brizzle has just gone for 13m quid, and...

Re: RIP - Gordon Neate

Is that a pop at Linden Jones? No, just modern full-backs. I quite liked other welsh players such as Tom Jones, Adie (kinda Welsh) and my old mate Mike Walker who won a number of Welsh caps despite not making it at his home town club. Who was worse...Chris Gunter or Paul Bodin?? Bodin. At le...

Re: Rival Watch

The trouble is we need to sell before we can buy. Apart from McNulty how much interest is there going to be in the likes of Kelly, Bodvarsson, Baldock, Walker etc?

Re: Rival Watch

McBurnie hadn’t scored a single goal for Swansea until Potter joined! For some reason Routledge and Dyer barely played in the first half of last season. Not quite sure why that was. He really did have a very young and unproven squad and worked very well with it. He had for Barnsley though and was c...

You can add Rangel to that list and Britton retired. Abraham’s loan came to an end too.

Re: Rival Watch

They had a fire sale at Swansea and he had a threadbare squad to work with. Average age of the starting line up was just 22. They showed a lot of naivety at times which cost them a lot of points. With more experienced players available they would have been considerably higher. He reminds me of Mark ...

Re: Rival Watch

I think Potter will regret the move. He’s jumped ship at the first opportunity. He can’t expect any loyalty if Brighton struggle next season. He was turning Swansea around and the fans loved him. The Brighton fans seem a bit disappointed he is their new manager. Of course he can turn them around soo...

Re: Financial Fair Play

Good stuff from Maffff. It reinforces what a disaster 2017 was. We have though significantly reduced the squad either by sale, loan or release so far this year. We need to move on six or seven preferably through sales to bring in four or five either on permanents or as loan signings.

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Watson has also been very brittle which doesn’t help. Personally I am unconvinced by both him and Richards as defenders. Richards is very naive on the defensive side although looks good going forward. I don’t share Ian’s confidence about our full-back options especially as we just don’t know if Obi...

Re: Rival Watch

Potter gone to Brighton. Personally find that strange, he'd just began implementing his style on the Swans and they had a strong end to the season. All what happens now is Potter has to re-start his process but this time he's against Hazard and Sterling and co rather than Garath McCleary and John S...
