Re: BFTG - Preston

He was clearly a good player at Fulham My view is that neither Stam or Clement have found how to use him. Putting him in the right winger role is a waste of time. He doesn’t play as a winger, gives us no width and provides no cover to his full back. I th8nk if he played in the 10 role he would be m...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Norwich City (h) sponsored by Andy Hughes

Chance for PC not to change a winning team and aim for consistency. However, like others on this Board, I think Aluko/Gunter is weak, but suspect injury to Blackett will keep Gunter in side. If he has better cover in front, I think his game will improve again. Sims seems to be perfect impact sub so...

My team for Naarige: Walker ________ Yiadom Ilori Moore Blackett (if fit, if not Gunter) _________ Bacuna Kelly Sims _________ Swift ________ Barrow (if not breastfeeding) Baldock And, when our Iranian international is up to speed, I'd slide him in for Kelly.... assuming he is actually half decent....

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (a) sponsored by the season starts here

Central midfield has been our biggest weakness both in terms of creating and defending. For a change our midfielders were creative yesterday. I still don’t think Kelly and Swift can play in the same midfield especially as both are poor defensively. I suspect we will see them on Wednesday night though.

Re: Injury & Suspension Watch : 2018/2019

Yiadom booked. Mannone injured in training yesterday. Believed a minor knock. Meyler has a minor knee problem and should be back in contention next week. Popa has an injured ankle from a week or so ago. He just rolled it so shouldn’t be out too long (not that he ever plays anyway) Blackett was miss...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Norwich City (h) sponsored by Andy Hughes

I don’t this Barrow is injured. His wife was going into labour so he had to give the Preston game a miss. Chronicle has him listed as injured   It seems our local journos were not aware of Mannone and Blackett’s injuries either. Low has tweeted that Barrow had to return home at 2am today ...

Re: BFTG - Preston

Good stuff. Interesting that you say Kelly was quiet as he was getting plaudits for his performance. Gunter probably needs dropping but with Blackett and Obita injured and Richards unconvincing I doubt he will be left out of the side. Bodvarsson was very unlucky not to start today perhaps he will co...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (a) sponsored by the season starts here

It will be interesting to see where Ezatolahi fits into Clement's plans. It sounds like he could add a bit of steel and solidity to midfield which is what we need. He might make the bench on Wednesday night. Barrow should be fit to play so would hope he would come into the side for Aluko. I can’t s...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (a) sponsored by the season starts here

Just from the highlights, couple of nice bits of play by Swift I don’t mind him and Bacuna in the middle - have a bit of dynamism and creativity about them. Be interested to see how Kelly played Lovely bit of play by Sims on the third - laid it on a plate. That bit of play by their #12 on their fir...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (a) sponsored by the season starts heretic

One comment: Sims was pure class to run onto to that Kelly ball, have the confidence to push it past the full back, use his speed to get there and then put in a decent ball. The one but of quality all game. It’s exactly what we need from our wingers and precisely what Aluko hasn’t been providing. S...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (a) sponsored by the season starts heregai

The real diehards would have gone to that game today. They will have enjoyed that and deservedly so. Interesting to see what side is picked against Narch. If fit will Barrow come back in? I feel strongly that you should keep tinkering to a minimum and rarely change a winning side. But I'd still dro...

My mate Mark Jones lino for that Barnsley game too. I might be buying him a beer next week. One more minute to hang on. He's my hero. Can't believe we've won! Home P3, W0, D0, L3 Away P4, W1, D2, L1 Can we play away every week? He’s my hero too Ian. I did ask him to make sure he flagged pretty shar...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (a) sponsored by the season starts here

GTFI. Three away games without defeat 8)
Next two games both at home against struggling teams. Time to sort out our home form
Finally under Clement we “win” a second half.
Once again Sims makes a difference towards the end.
Finally this lot show some character.
Onwards and upwards.
