Re: New Manager

Honestly think the club just need to stump up for Jokanovic. Fulham were in a similar position to us when he took over and he got them promoted. I think it would raise attendances from the off, the football would be better, the atmosphere around the club would improve. It's a no brainer for me. Yup...

Re: New Manager

The unknown Portuguese bloke is now 4/7 with Sky Bet I think those who are excited about this appointment if it happens are a tiny number and desperate . Of course he may be the messiah but I for one have no good feeling about this what so ever, not that my opinion is worth a flying toss. Our club ...

Re: New Manager

I've been reading some of the comments about the potential managerial appointment of Luis Castro and it's a typical one from those that fear what they do not know. I follow Reading and FC Porto. I have done for the past 26 years and I know my fair share about Portuguese football. Portuguese footbal...

Re: Clement sacked!

McDermott's second stint. Clarke was good for about 2 months. Stam had one lucky season and left us far worse than he found us. Yeah, I call that failure. Steve Clarke got us to an FA Cup semi final......... Ian just back down, sometimes you have to in life. And Paul Clement kept us up. Staying in ...

Re: Clement sacked!

Wrong decision IMO as inherited bloated and injured squad and has never even had the likes of Obita or Harriott to select. Paying for previous poor acquisitions. Only major gripe was that he couldn't wake the squad up from the Stam tedium into any sort of an attacking unit. List of usual suspects b...

Re: Who goes in January?

Agreed. Just hasn't worked out for Pelle here, another poor signing from Tevreden and Stam. Expect him to go back to Holland where the less physical aspect of the game may aid his development. I'm surprised he hasn't got more of a go actually. He seems to be the kind of high energy midfielder that ...

Re: BFTG Leeds

Where to start with that. Turned up at Elland Road not expecting much and expecting to be blown away by a high-tempo Leeds team - and we weren't. Didn't think they really posed a threat in the first half, their dive in the box was embarrassing, Roofe was arguably the danger but thought we handled h...

Re: Clement

It was refreshing to read Clement's statement about Ron Gourlay and I've been saying the exact same thing a few times one here. Clement oversees training, picks the team, does the tactics and is supposed to motivate the players. Not Gourlay. So why the hell is he getting the blame for things on the ...

Re: Clement

Clement out. Not a fan from the start of his work and not a fan now. I've read some posts on here blaming the backroom politics, injuries and some even backing him because he's an honest bloke. The fact is the players won't give a shite who is doing what off the pitch. They're getting payed, the man...

Re: Academy - is it worth it?

There is a lot of young players living in Reading that were once on our books and have been snapped up to Spurs, Arsenal or Chelsea. My mate teaches secondary school kids in Hugh Faringdon and I remember a couple of years ago he said that half of his class are playing academy football for one of tho...

Re: Rumour - Phil Parkinson

I would take him in a heartbeat. He's done incredibly well at Bolton considering the transfer embargoes and lack of funding he's had to deal with. He's also proven that he can adapt styles of play very well on a tight to nothing budget. Bolton aren't the most attractive team to watch at times, espec...

This is sounds like a mid year appraisal that went horribly bad.

Are you actually being serious about this?
