Re: Building for next season

The time to sign Long was 2 years ago. You may be right, but what we need is some POWER, some speed, a few hard men in our side. I remember the Everton CBs saying how Long & Hunt didn't give them a moment's rest. We miss that element. Kermy doesn't do it, Martin (ha-ha) and neither does Bod (wh...

Re: South Stand Singers For Sunderland (H)

What's my age got to do with how certain supporters might react to Liam Moore's gesture of good will? Grow up or go away. Absolutely mate. Grow up. You are embarrassing yourself. You're not very bright are you? I'm in favour of the South Stand stuff but others aren't. Try to grow up a bit and come ...

Re: Building for next season

Wouldn't take either of them. Long is over the hill and has scored 7 goals in his last 73 games. HRK was with us for years and never held down a spot. Agreed. Would much rather give Loader or Smith a try. Loader will be the one to shine next season I think that is the first time you have ever said ...

Re: Building for next season

Just a thought.....HRK and ShLong are dropping into the Championship again.....would any of you take HRK back? Personally I would break the bank of Long....he's exactly what we need.......suspect its just a dream though and he will stay in the PL with another club......As for HRK......no thanks. Di...

Reading about non league football (conference) league from 2000-01 till now on wiki. Some proper nostalgic teams in there if anybody remembers. Scarborough (RIPIP) Hayes Leigh RMI Boston Rushden and Diamonds (RIPIP) Gravesend and Northfleet Farnborough (never knew they ever went that high!) The form...

Good freebie at Maidenhead last night. Played well, deserved the win. That said they'll definitely get relegated next season. Of course if they kept tarpey they would be alot nearer the playoffs. Yeah definitely...... I am sure he would have been really effective with a broken leg, really driven th...

Re: The Non - League thread

Conference north is actually quite a decent league with a lot of good teams in it (Salford/darlington/Stockport etc). And even lower have South shields. Shaw lane etc. The northern northern (ie Newcastle area) teams always seem to do well. They seem to dominate the fa trophy/vase (delete as appropri...

Re: The Non - League thread

Why do the conference play offs have 6 teams in? Assume it will be something like 4th vs 7th and 5th vs 6th then 3rd and 2nd v winners? But it just seems weird why they dont just do 2 automatic and then a 4 team play off?.... Is it something to do with the grounds and teams not being allowed in play...
