Re: The generic transfer thread

I think he'll do well in Scotland. Do suspect hell be torn a new arsehole in the 4 games that matter though. Shows what's bit of Champions League money can do in a shit league.

On a slightly related note, I see that Southampton are still funding Celtic's transfer spending.

Re: The generic transfer thread

Real made €100m in shirt sales in his first year there. It's not unfeasable Juve could as well. They are the most popular team in Italy.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Croatia (n) sponsored by two big badges

You can't discuss Balkan national identity without being political. National identity, particularly after the death if Tito, was the single biggest defining characteristic for most Yugoslavs. You were Croat, or a Serb or a Bosnian first and a Yugoslav second. There really wasn't any significant swit...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Croatia (n) sponsored by two big badges

Those nations are very small and will never get to win a World Cup or a Euros. You do realise Scotland has a bigger population than Croatia? I think Croatia winning it would be brilliant. It would show that you don't need 40m people, you don't need billionaire club owners and you don't need a multi...

Because what this England team needed was Danny Welbeck and Rob Holding.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Croatia (n) sponsored by two big badges

Next part is to get to HT still leading Also seems a bit of a one trick game plan i.e. pass to Sterling and let him run at their defence And come on Jesse at least make the keeper work. England’s tactics are working well though. Croatia are struggling to cope with Sterling’s pace. England are playi...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Butland would seem the obvious choice but you've also got 2 England internationals at Burnley. Either would be an upgrade on Karius and neither would cost £20m.

Re: Thanks Yann and goodbye.

He was originally going to retire this summer to become a financial advisor.

I presume his contract extension was on the assumption that he was going to regain some level if fitness. I can only assume he and the club have realised that wont happen and he's reverting back to Plan A.

Re: Club v Country

Club absolutely every time without question. Maybe it's because my family is Irish but I've never lived in Ireland, I was born in Wales but never lived there and live in England but am not English so I have absolutely no affinity to any of them. If Jon Dadi stepped up to take the deciding kick in a ...

I'd take Lynsey de Paul over some of the shit we've signed in the past.

Yeah sort of like Vincent Pericard except he's scored some goals and doesn't wear an electronic tag.

Re: The generic transfer thread

More and more talk that Ronaldo actually will leave Real Madrid this summer. Marca saying he will be gone within a week http://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/opinion/2018/07/07/5b412411268e3ee0548b463b.html I know Ronaldo can be a devisive character who believes he's bigger than the club and...

Re: Rumour - Mbaye Diagne

Has a more than decent goal scoring record in a lot of really poor leagues but has shown enough in the past for Juventus to sign him.

We don't often take these sort of punts and they don't really tend to work out but if he's available for £200,000-300,000, may be worth a punt.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sweden (n) sponsored by Pippy Longstocking

Just watching the last 10 minutes of this game and the last 10 minutes of the Belgium Brazil game kind of highlighted the difference between a good player (Sterling) and a World class player (Hazard). Last night, every time the Belgians cleared, Hazard would control and turn with one touch, beat his...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sweden (n) sponsored by Pippy Longstocking

I'm not English and don't really care that much about them but for once, I can actually get behind an England team and it is all down to the manager. I like his positivity, I like his intelligence, I like the fact that he is open and honest, I like the fact that he has picked players that he trusts ...

Re: Quarter Finals: Sweden v England

England have got a poor record against Sweden but Sweden no longer have a Larsson or an Ibrahimovic who can win single handedly win a game for them and seem organised but functional. Also for once, England's team is not less than the sum of its parts.

2-0 England

Re: CONFIMRED - Marc McNulty

Yes you can question the level he's played at and whether he can cope with the physicality of The Championship but he seems to have sound technique and an eye for a chance so the raw attributes are there, be it picking his spot from the edge of the area or poaching in the 6yd box. We've just got to ...

Does anyone else find ITV's coverage a bit... depressing? Can't quite put my finger on it, but there's just something about it that feels turgid and brings my mood down. Bottom line, BBC is public service broadcasting so generally have to have people who are vaguely competent, ITV is light entertai...

But everone said that in 2014 and then the first genuinely decent team that they faced ripped them several new arseholes. Yes, on paper they have decent players but as a team, they seem flakey as fcuk. And Neymar is just a horrible little ratboy. Absolutely still standing by this that I posted abou...
