Re: Last 100 players on loan

So in the 13 years it took Leeds to rack up 100, we've had 37, of which 9 were signed by Steve Clarke in less than 12 months.

Re: Last 100 players on loan

Nigel Stephenson and Sean Reck in 1985-86 Nigel Vaughan and Nicky Platenaur in 87 George Shipperley in about 79? Terry Bullivant in 83. Was Dave Madden originally on loan before signing permanently in 88? Mark Robson in about 87 or 88? I think Dave Cowling originally came on loan in 87 before signin...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Isn't most of their "debt" owed to the Glazers?

Re: Last 100 players on loan

Pretty sure we have Adi Viveash on loan in 94/95 because he scored an own goal in a torrential downpour at Burnley.

Keep up, Gus. The fee is reportedly between £1.25m and £1.5m.

Re: Rumour - Modou Barrow

I'm not dismissing raw pace as an asset and I do think it's ironic Leeds fans saying we can't have seen him play when he only started 1 game for them.

£1.25m-£1.5m for him would be good business IMO.

Re: Rumour - Modou Barrow

I'd take a consistent end product over searing pace any day of the week. Glen Little didn't have pace but is the best winger I've ever seen in a Reading shirt. A drop of the shoulder or a deft touch gave him all the space he needed. Our problem last season wasn't pace, it was urgency coupled with an...

Re: RUMOUR - Rasmus Thelander

If he adds strength in depth and it's a good deal then why not.

For all out strength at CB, Cooper may still be on the move and I'm not really sure how much more McShane has to give. If we're looking to play 3 centre backs, we're suddenly looking a bit thin.

Re: Dom Samuel

He was part of a golden generation of graduates from our academy of which much (maybe too much) was expected. They are all now, almost without exception playing their trade in League 1 or below. There's maybe 2 or 3 in the Scottish Premier. He's not without ability but comes with a sick note. He did...

Re: Summer Ins and Outs

I see GR is reporting the "story" that Reading is whinging about the cost of players and salaries in today's transfer market. So it's just like old times with JM running things  http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/fans-say-reading-fc-only-13344810 So how horribly...

Re: Rumour: Sone Aluko

Some Aluko? Showboat Aluko more like. Great player if you like players who can skin one defender, stepover past the next, put the third defender on his arse with a turn then shin the ball into the stands when there's a team mate free 6yds from goal, begging for the cutback. At £500k, yes but in the ...

McCormack - serious attitude problems

Murphy - 34 years old so we'd be eying up his replacement in a year.

Re: Charlie Watts - great journo

J Low's output on this trip has been pretty reasonable. Not amazing, but quite informative, some good interviews and a little bit of insight. I do wonder if maybe he has been freed from the shackles of having to do some of the other cr@p he no doubt has to do for GR has given him a chance to get to...

Re: Rumour - Samuel Armenteros

With the proviso of some of the defending leaving a lot to be desired, seems to have decent pace, quick feet and a decent eye for goal. Very one footed though.

Looks a decent player.
