Re: RUMOUR - Luuk de Jong

It's says the brother of PSV's Luuk I.e. Siem, could have gone to Reading but he has waived our offer.

Absolutely no story here with regard to Luuk.

Re: RUMOUR - Luuk de Jong

I think it's just a misreading by the OP. It's the Siem Dr Jong story and the only mention of Luuk is that he's his brother. The "waiting for our offer" is actually Siem waiving our offer.

Re: Rumour - Tomer Hemed

Just confirmed. Brighton have signed Ghana striker Raphael Dwamena from FC Zurich. Suggests that deal maybe possible. £12m apparently, that's a fcuking huge gamble on a player who, albeit with an impressive goalscoring record in the second tier of Swiss and Austrian football, has never played top f...

:?: He killed someone while drink driving when he was a Bolton player. It was a big deal at the time as the media were claiming he would be banged up for years, turns out he just got fined what is the equivalent of around half a weeks wages on his current earnings. I am sure it taught him a hard le...

Re: Back From The Match - Preston

Same number of points and better goal difference than after 4 games last season and same points and slightly better goal difference to the corresponding 4 fixtures last season. I think it's a bit early to be pissing our knickers and writing off the season just yet. Interesting comparison. Newcastle...

Re: Redknapp / Birmingham

Every cloud has a silver lining, they sent Villa bottom.

In fairness to Redknapp, the squad he's inherited isn't that great, they've got a massive injury list and he's struggling to bring players in. Not sure I'd want to go there if I was a player. The club's a basket case.

Think you might have missed it being a double substitution, Evans and McCleary on for Joey and Popa.

Re: Pure Spaculation - Nick Blackman

I'd rather sign Honor Blackman.

Yes, he had a 6 week spell where everything he hit went in but that was preceded by a 30 month spell where he looked like a one legging man trying to kick himself in the arse.

Re: Players you'd like us to sign thread

Yeah, there's a number of reasons why no-one in the Championship has taken a punt on Madden. But mainly it's because in his one spell in the championship he scored a massive 0 goals in 4 months prompting his manager to drop him and put him on the transfer list, publicly stating he was a lazy bastard...

Re: Players you'd like us to sign thread

Bogle might be ok as an option off the bench. Doesn't McGoldrick have a reputation for being lazy and disruptive? Also, 1 in 4 (80 in 320, 31 in 112 at Ipswich) hardly inspires confidence. Blackman simply isn't good enough.

Re: Weekend Football

Don't get me wrong, disallowing the goal was a very poor decision but it was a textbook example of simulation; leave both legs dragging as you go past the defender and fall over despite there being clear daylight between the two of you, safe in the knowledge that from the ref's position it would loo...

Re: Players you'd like us to sign thread

Seeing as the theme on this thread is to pick a completely random forward from a middling team in a western European league, I give you Fred Friday of AZ,

I know nothing about him other than he plays in Holland and his goalscoring record in Norway wasn't completely shit.

John Madejski's Wallet wrote:Awful, awful decision. Not only was no-one remotely offside from the free kick (no excuse for lino on that), but it was a fukking own goal. Losing 1-0 they must be livid, crappy result when you've only just come up

Justice done. Never a free kick in the first place, it was a blatant dive.

Re: Rumour - Leandro Bacuna

Pretty much and he's hampered with Villa having not really had his own position. His attacking stats came out much clearer with Groningen, but less data was available and it's a different league. Given the fact a lot of that is in the Prem, in a side which was progressively getting worse and not in...
